VEVOR 12V Electric Winch Buying Guide (2026): ATV vs Truck, Steel vs Synthetic, the 40 € Shipping Trap, Euro Prices

A 12 V electric winch pulls a stuck quad, 4×4 or boat out with the power of the vehicle battery. VEVOR’s EU store sells three families: compact ATV/UTV winches around 900–2,700 kg, portable box-style kits, and truck winches rated 2,700–6,100 kg. We went through the 18 listings that were in stock on October 30, 2026, from 75,90 € to 339,90 €. The real differences are rated pull, steel cable versus synthetic rope, the remote, the current they draw and the shipping weight, and twice a bigger winch costs less than a smaller one.

The 18 VEVOR winches at a glance

All are 12 V DC; VEVOR answered a buyer that its winches currently ship only in 12 V versions (our translation from German), so there is no 24 V option here. Rope lengths are rounded from the titles and spec lists. Review scores are shared across sizes: the three P-series ATV pages show the same 4.5 out of 5 from 280 reviews, the synthetic mount-plate ATV winches 4.3 from 47 (11% of them 1-star), the 6100 kg/5400 kg synthetic truck pair 4.7 from 91, and the three steel truck pages 4.7 from 38. A review may be about a different size than the one you are looking at. One more winch in the feed is marked discontinued and is not included.

How big a winch you need

A widely used rule of thumb is a rated pull of at least 1.5 times the gross weight of the vehicle you are recovering, more if you often get stuck in deep mud or pull uphill. A 2,000 kg SUV therefore points to roughly 3,000 kg or more, which means a truck winch, not an ATV one; a 400 kg quad is well served by the 907–1,814 kg ATV winches. The rating applies to the first layer of rope on the drum; pull drops as more layers wind on.

Winches pull; they do not lift. A Norwegian buyer asked whether the 907 kg model can lift about 30 kg three metres vertically. VEVOR answered that this winch is for ATV self-recovery and horizontal pulling, and that lifting needs a special model it does not currently sell (our translation from Romanian). Do not use any of these as a hoist.

Steel cable or synthetic rope

Several sizes come in both versions, which makes the difference easy to see. The 6,100 kg truck winch weighs 33 kg with steel rope and 23 kg with synthetic, 10 kg less on the front of your vehicle (our arithmetic). Synthetic rope is lighter to handle and stores less energy if it snaps; steel cable tolerates abrasion and heat better and costs less to replace. Whichever you choose, wear gloves and lay a rope dampener or heavy jacket over the line while pulling.

Battery, current and duty time

A winch runs straight off the vehicle battery, and VEVOR’s own answers show how much it draws: 90 A at full load for the 907 kg P2000-1, 150 A for the 1,814 kg P3000-1C, 210 A operating and 250 A maximum for the 2,041 kg box kit, about 400 A peak for the 5,400 kg steel truck winch and 405 A at full load for the SC13500. For the big truck winches VEVOR recommends a 12 V battery of 100–120 Ah with over 650 CCA; for the 1,361 kg ATV winch it says about 50 Ah is enough for normal self-recovery. Keep the engine running while you winch.

Short bursts only. For the SC13500, VEVOR says that at full load the winch should be stopped after 2–3 minutes of continuous pulling to let the motor cool. Winches are also slow under load: VEVOR lists 0.7 m/min fully loaded for the 1,361 kg ATV winch and 0.9 m/min for the 6,100 kg steel truck winch, so a 3-minute pull at full load moves only 2–3 metres (our arithmetic).

ATV and UTV winches

• P2000-1, 75,90 €: the cheapest winch here, 907 kg, 0.95 HP, steel cable Φ5/32 in × 39 ft, wired remote, IP55, 7.26 kg. When a Romanian buyer asked for a smaller 500–600 kg winch, VEVOR pointed to this one as its smallest.
• 2500lb with mount plate, 76,99 €: 1,134 kg on synthetic rope, 1.2 HP, 153:1 gearing, wired remote, 6 kg. The mount-plate family (this one, 3000lb, 3500lb, P4000-1D, 6000lb) includes a mounting plate in the title.
• 3000lb with mount plate, 78,99 €: 1,360 kg on steel rope, 1.3 HP, wired remote, 8.4 kg. Only 2,00 € more than the 2500lb (our arithmetic).
• 3500lb with mount plate, 87,99 €: 1,587 kg, synthetic rope (10 m), 1.3 HP, 6.35 kg. VEVOR gives its mounting hole spacing as 114 mm × 76 mm; check that against your bumper or trailer before you order.
• P3000-1A, 96,90 €: 1,361 kg, 1.3 HP, steel cable, wired remote only, 7.7 kg. VEVOR lists 2.9 m/min empty and 0.7 m/min fully loaded.
• P3000-1C, 97,90 €: 1,814 kg with wired and wireless remotes (20 m range), 8.4 kg, same 1.3 HP and the same 28.5 × 10.2 × 10.5 cm size as the P3000-1A. See the trap below.
• P4000-1D with mount plate, 137,99 €: 2,041 kg on steel rope, 2.2 HP, 128.2:1, wired and wireless remotes, 12 kg. VEVOR confirmed the box includes a mounting plate and roller fairlead (our translation from Danish). Note it is rated IP54, not IP55 like the rest.
• 6000lb ATV/UTV with mount plate, 149,99 €: 2,721 kg on 15 m synthetic rope, 3.5 HP, 166:1, both remotes, 11.35 kg: the strongest compact winch here.

Portable box-style kits

The two box kits put the winch in a carry case with fairlead, clevis hook and strap, so you can move it between vehicles or use it with a receiver mount instead of bolting it on. The 1,587 kg kit costs 155,99 € (5 mm × 10 m synthetic rope, 13.3 kg) and the 2,041 kg kit 175,99 € (5.5 mm × 10 m, 14.65 kg); a 2,722 kg version was out of stock. Both have wired and wireless remotes and IP55. VEVOR’s answers matter here: there is no battery in the box; you must connect it to an external 12 V battery the whole time. It quotes a no-load line speed of 3.2 m/min and recommends at least a 45 Ah battery with about 250 A starting current (our translations from Finnish and Swedish). The case costs 68,00 € more than the bolt-on 3500lb winch with the same 1,587 kg rating (our arithmetic).

Truck winches

• S6000, 219,90 €: 2,722 kg on 12-strand polyethylene rope, 2.5 HP, both remotes, 18.42 kg, 4.3 from 304 reviews. The spec lists the rope as Φ1/4 in × 55 ft (16.76 m), but asked in Romanian how long the rope is, VEVOR answered “26 metres”. Go by the spec list and ask before you buy if length matters.
• SC13500, 254,90 € (deal until Nov 1, was 282,90 €): 6,100 kg on 9.5 mm × 24 m synthetic rope, 6.6 HP, 265:1, 22.84 kg, 4.4 from 343 reviews, free shipping. The cheapest 6-tonne winch here. VEVOR says it has CE (EMC and MD) certification, that it cannot be mounted rotated 90°, and, despite the waterproof title, that it is not recommended for use in rainy weather.
• 13500lb synthetic, 281,90 €: 6,100 kg on 9.5 mm × 26 m synthetic rope, 6 HP, 23 kg, IP55, 4.7 from 91 reviews, free shipping, no timed deal.
• S12000 synthetic, 283,90 € (deal until Nov 1, was 314,90 €): 5,400 kg on 9.1 mm × 23 m, 5.5 HP, 22.9 kg. On the same page selector it costs 2,00 € more than the 6,100 kg version (our arithmetic).



• 12000lb steel, 307,90 € (deal until Oct 31, was 341,90 €): 5,400 kg on 9.1 mm × 24 m steel rope, 6 HP, 33 kg, plus 40,00 € shipping to Romania.
• S10000 steel, 317,90 €: 4,500 kg on 8.3 mm × 19.8 m, only 3 HP, 29.2 kg, plus 40,00 € shipping. VEVOR recommends a 650 CCA, 100 Ah battery for it (our translation from Catalan).
• SC13000 steel, 323,90 € (deal until Nov 1, was 359,90 €): 6,123 kg on 19-strand steel cable Φ3/8 in × 80 ft (24.4 m), 6.6 HP, 33.1 kg, plus 40,00 € shipping. Its title says IP65; its spec list says IP55.
• 13500lb steel, 339,90 €: 6,100 kg on 9.5 mm × 24 m steel rope, 6 HP, 33 kg, plus 40,00 € shipping: the most expensive listing, 58,00 € more than the synthetic 6,100 kg before shipping (our arithmetic). VEVOR quotes 5 m/min empty and 0.9 m/min loaded.

Read the listing twice

• 1,00 € for 453 kg and a wireless remote. The P3000-1C (1,814 kg) costs 97,90 €, the P3000-1A (1,361 kg) 96,90 €. Same 1.3 HP motor, same 153 gear ratio, same steel cable and same dimensions; the C adds the wireless remote and 0.7 kg (our arithmetic). VEVOR also answered on the C page that it has a 1.5 HP motor “approximately 1,120 W”, while the spec list says 1.3 HP.
• Bigger costs less, twice. The 6,100 kg synthetic truck winch is 281,90 €, the 5,400 kg one 283,90 € on deal. Among steel winches, the 5,400 kg (6 HP) on deal at 307,90 € is 10,00 € cheaper than the 4,500 kg with a 3 HP motor (our arithmetic). The 5,400 kg steel deal ends Oct 31.
• The 40 € shipping trap. VEVOR’s shipping policy charges Romania 40 € per item for items of 30 kg and above (Ireland and Portugal 10 €, Finland and Croatia 30 €). All four steel-rope truck winches showed the fee to Romania; the 23 kg synthetic ones did not. With shipping, the 6,100 kg steel winch costs 379,90 € against 281,90 € for synthetic (our arithmetic). Check the fee for your country on the product page.
• IP65 in the title, IP55 in the spec. The SC13000 claims IP65 in its title and IP55 in its spec list. Assume IP55, and remember VEVOR advised against using the SC13500 in the rain.
• Rope length mismatch. S6000: 55 ft (16.76 m) in the spec, “26 metres” in VEVOR’s answer.
• Shared review scores. The 4.5 stars from 280 reviews cover three different ATV winches, and the 4.7 from 38 reviews covers three steel truck winches of 4,500–6,100 kg.
• Deals. Four prices are timed deals ending Oct 31 or Nov 1; expect them to return to the crossed-out price.

Who each one is for

VEVOR P2000-1 907 kg ATV winch: 75,90 €

For: a light quad, garden tractor or boat trailer, at the lowest price. Skip if: your machine plus load is over about 600 kg.

VEVOR P3000-1C 1,814 kg ATV winch: 97,90 €

For: our pick for most quads and UTVs: wireless remote and 453 kg more than the P3000-1A for 1,00 € extra. Skip if: you need a mounting plate in the box; check the mount-plate models.

VEVOR 6000lb ATV/UTV winch: 149,99 €

For: heavy UTVs and side-by-sides wanting synthetic rope and both remotes. Skip if: you have a car or SUV; go truck winch.

VEVOR box-style 1,587 kg portable kit: 155,99 €

For: steel cable for rocks and abrasion, 6 HP, 307,90 € on deal until Oct 31. Skip if: you ship to Romania and dislike the 40 € fee; synthetic ships free.

Safety. Use a rated tree-trunk protector or shackle point, never wrap the rope back on itself, keep at least five wraps on the drum, stand well clear of the line and never step over it, and lay a dampener over steel cable. Never use a winch to lift people or loads overhead.

Shipping, returns and warranty

• Shipping: fourteen pages showed “FREE Shipping” and four showed “40,00 € Shipping Fees” for delivery to Romania on October 30, 2026, with delivery between Nov 1 and Nov 8. VEVOR’s policy says “All products are currently free shipping, except in some remote areas,” then lists per-country surcharges for items of 30 kg and above.
• Returns and warranty: “All our products come with a 12-months warranty and can be returned for free within 30 days of delivery for approved reasons!” Most pages link an English user manual (PDF).
