EU store, euro prices. All links go to eur.vevor.com, VEVOR’s European store. Prices are in euros, VAT included, exactly as the store showed them on November 4, 2026 (re-checked right before publishing), with Romania as the delivery country. Every product we link showed “In Stock”, free returns and no time-limited deal. Four picks ship free; seven showed a 40,00 € shipping fee, which we list next to the price. Prices change; the store price at checkout is the one that counts.
“Band saw” covers two very different machines. A woodworking band saw is a tall saw with a table, for curves, resawing boards and ripping thick stock. A metal band saw runs a toothier blade far more slowly and cuts pipe, bar and profile to length. On November 4, 2026 we went through VEVOR’s EU band saw listings and kept 11 picks, from 163,90 € to 2.475,90 €: six woodworking saws from a 229 mm benchtop model to a 3 HP 457 mm saw, and five metal saws (two handheld portables, a benchtop vertical and two horizontal saws on wheels). Anything on a countdown deal or in clearance was left out.
The price trap worth knowing: the 254 mm HBS250 with its stand showed 399,90 €, while the same saw without the stand showed 443,90 € on the same page selector, so the version with the stand was 44,00 € cheaper (our arithmetic). Both ship for 40,00 €. And among the horizontal metal saws, the rotating-bow BS-712R costs 623,00 € more than the BS-712N while listing a smaller rectangular capacity (7 × 8.25″ vs 7 × 12″).
Safety first. Wear eye and hearing protection, keep the blade guard as low as the work allows, feed with a push stick near the blade and never reach behind it while it runs. Unplug the saw (or take the battery out) before changing or tensioning a blade. On metal saws, clamp the work in the vise, because the blade can grab loose pieces; on wood saws, round stock rolls, so hold it in a jig. Cut metal and wood on separate days with the machine cleaned in between, and do not let hot metal chips reach a dust bag. Use the 230 V outlet and fuse the manual asks for.

Throat, cutting height, blade speed and TPI
- Throat (cutting width) on a woodworking band saw is the distance from the blade to the frame. It limits how wide a board you can cut a curve in. The model names follow it loosely: HBS230 = 229 mm, HBS250 = 245 or 254 mm, HBS350 = 340 mm, HBS450 = 457 mm.
- Cutting height is the thickest piece that fits under the guide. It matters for resawing (slicing a thick board into thinner ones): 90 mm on the HBS230 is for crafts and thin stock, 160 mm on the HBS250 handles most hobby resawing, and 330–406 mm on the two biggest saws is for wide boards and small logs.
- Blade speed is the big difference between wood and metal saws. The woodworking saws list up to 730–880 m/min; the metal saws run at 22–120 m/min, because steel needs a slow blade to cut without burning the teeth.
- TPI and blade width: more teeth per inch (the 8–12 TPI blade of the BS-85, the 10/14 T blade of the 20 V portable) means smoother cuts in thin metal; fewer teeth (5/8 TPI on the BS-712 saws) suit solid bar. On wood saws, a narrow blade (6.35 mm on the HBS230) turns tighter curves, a wide one (12.7–19 mm) resaws straighter.
Woodworking band saws (202–2.131 €)
All six tilt the table for bevel cuts. The four HBS230/HBS250/HBS450 listings say a fence and a mitre gauge come with the saw.
- HBS230 benchtop band saw, 229 mm (201,90 €, free shipping): 373 W (0.5 HP), 229 mm throat, 90 mm cutting height, a 1511 mm × 6.35 mm blade for tight curves, a 300 × 300 mm cast aluminium table that tilts 5° left and 45° right, and a removable safety key. The cheapest woodworking saw here and one of the four free-shipping picks.
- HBS250 band saw with stand, 254 mm (399,90 € + 40,00 € shipping = 439,90 €, our arithmetic): 373 W, two speeds, 254 mm throat, 160 mm cutting height, a 1832 mm × 12.7 mm blade, a 335 × 340 mm cast iron table tilting 5° left / 45° right, and a 360° LED work light. The best-value pick: 44,00 € cheaper than the same saw without the stand (our arithmetic).
- HBS250 benchtop band saw, 254 mm, no stand (443,90 € + 40,00 € shipping = 483,90 €, our arithmetic): the same specs as the version above, but 443,90 € on the same page. Buy it only if the stand version disappears or rises in price, or you really have no room for a stand.
- HBS250 band saw with storage stand, 245 mm (400,90 € + 40,00 € shipping = 440,90 €, our arithmetic): a different HBS250 listing: 370 W, 245 mm throat, 160 mm height, the same 1832 mm blade length (12 mm wide), a 340 × 335 mm Q235 steel table tilting 0–45°, EU-standard speeds of 506 and 920 RPM (up to 730 m/min), overheat protection, a dust collection port and a 60 × 50 × 70 cm stand with storage; 27.5 kg. Only 1,00 € more than the 254 mm stand version (our arithmetic), which has the cast iron table and wider throat.
- HBS350 band saw with stand, 340 mm (970,90 € + 40,00 € shipping = 1.010,90 €, our arithmetic): 1100 W (1.5 HP), continuously variable 440–846 RPM (up to 880 m/min), 340 mm throat and 330 mm cutting height for serious resawing, a 2780 mm blade, a 395 × 545 mm steel table tilting 0–45°, overheat protection and a dust collection port; 820 × 530 × 1815 mm. In the seller Q&A, VEVOR says a 230 V 50 Hz European plug can be used.
- HBS450 band saw, 457 mm, 3 HP (2.130,90 € + 40,00 € shipping = 2.170,90 €, our arithmetic): 2240 W (3 HP), 457 mm throat, 406 mm cutting height, a 3810 mm × 19 mm blade, a 681 × 482 mm cast iron table tilting 15° left / 45° right, LED light, fence and mitre gauge. VEVOR lists it as a “benchtop” type, but at this size plan for a floor-standing machine and check your circuit before buying a 3 HP motor.

Metal band saws (164–2.476 €)
A metal band saw cuts cold, without the sparks and noise of an angle grinder or chop saw, and leaves a cleaner end. The three small ones ship free.
- BW2111 20 V cordless portable band saw (bare tool) (163,90 €, free shipping): a brushless 20 V saw cutting up to 127 × 115 mm, stepless 0–120 m/min, a 1140 × 13 × 0.65 mm 10/14 T blade, LED sight light, quick-change blade lever and a hanging hook; 5.95 kg. Bare tool only: no battery or charger, so it only makes sense if you already own VEVOR 20 V batteries. (The kit with battery was in clearance, so we left it out.)
- Corded portable band saw with removable base, 1100 W (189,90 €, free shipping): despite “cordless” in the listing title, the spec list says 220 V/50 Hz with a 2 m cable, so this is a corded saw. 1100 W, six speed levels, and a removable steel base that turns it into a small stationary saw and swivels 0–45°. VEVOR lists 4.7″ × 4.7″ rectangular / 5″ round without the base and 3.9″ × 3.2″ / 3.93″ with it; 13 kg, two blades included. The listing also says “10 amp” in the text but 2.9 A in the spec list, so go by the 1100 W figure. 26,00 € more than the cordless bare tool (our arithmetic), with no battery to buy.
- BS-85 benchtop metal band saw, 1000 W (356,90 €, free shipping): an aluminium-cast saw with a cast iron quick-positioning vise, a soft-start motor with a variable speed knob (40–88 m/min), a 13 × 0.65 × 1325 mm blade with 8–12 variable TPI, and a head that rotates 0–45° for mitres. Capacity: 85 mm round or 85 × 105 mm rectangular at 90°, 70 mm round or 65 × 75 mm at 45°. Dry cutting only; 19.4 kg.
- BS-712N horizontal metal band saw, 7 × 12″ (1.852,90 € + 40,00 € shipping = 1.892,90 €, our arithmetic): 1.1 kW, four belt speeds (22, 33, 45 and 65 m/min), a 2362 mm 5/8 TPI blade, 7 × 12″ (about 178 × 305 mm, our conversion) rectangular capacity, hydraulic downfeed and automatic shut-off at the end of the cut, horizontal and vertical modes, four wheels; 139 kg. Mitres are cut by turning the clamp plate (vise) 0–45°. EU version 220 V 50 Hz.
- BS-712R horizontal metal band saw, rotating saw bow (2.475,90 € + 40,00 € shipping = 2.515,90 €, our arithmetic): the same 1.1 kW motor, four speeds, blade, hydraulic downfeed and auto shut-off, but the saw bow rotates 0–45° instead of the vise, so long stock stays square to the machine for mitres. The listed rectangular capacity is smaller, 7 × 8.25″ (about 178 × 210 mm, our conversion), and it weighs 186 kg. 623,00 € more than the BS-712N (our arithmetic): worth it only if you cut many mitres in long pieces.

Price steps and traps (our arithmetic)
- Stand cheaper than no stand: HBS250 254 mm with stand 399,90 € vs without 443,90 €: the stand version saves 44,00 €. Delivered, it is 439,90 € vs 483,90 €.
- HBS230 to HBS250: 198,00 € more on the sticker, 238,00 € more delivered (201,90 € free shipping vs 439,90 €), for 25 mm more throat, 70 mm more cutting height (160 vs 90 mm), a wider blade, a cast iron table and a stand.
- HBS250 to HBS350: 571,00 € more, for twice the cutting height (330 vs 160 mm) and an 1100 W motor.
- Cordless vs corded portable: 163,90 € for the bare 20 V tool vs 189,90 € for the corded saw with base: 26,00 € apart, before you buy any battery.
- Horizontal saws: BS-712N 1.892,90 € delivered vs BS-712R 2.515,90 €; the 623,00 € gap buys a rotating bow, not more capacity.
What we left out

FAQ
Can I cut metal on a woodworking band saw?
Not well. Woodworking saws here run at up to 730–880 m/min, far too fast for steel, which wants the 22–120 m/min of the metal saws. Some listings mention soft metals like aluminium, but for steel buy a metal band saw.
What size woodworking band saw do I need?
For curves and boards up to 90 mm thick, the 229 mm HBS230 is enough. For resawing, cutting height matters more than throat: 160 mm on the HBS250, 330 mm on the HBS350.
Why is the HBS250 with stand cheaper than without?
We cannot say why; on November 4, 2026 the page selector showed 399,90 € with stand and 443,90 € without. Check both options at checkout, as the gap can change.
Does the 20 V portable come with a battery?
No. The listing is marked “Bare Tool Only”. The kit with battery was in clearance on November 4, 2026.
Is shipping free to Romania?
Four of the 11 picks showed free shipping (HBS230, both portables and the BS-85); the other seven showed a 40,00 € fee on November 4, 2026. All showed free returns.
