EarFun Bluetooth Speakers Compared (2026): UBOOM vs UBOOM L vs UBOOM X, US Prices, Stock, Battery and IP Rating

Affiliate disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to EarFun’s official US store (via Awin). If you buy through them, SiftGuide may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every price, code, stock note and spec below comes from EarFun’s own product pages, spec tables and store policies on myearfun.com, checked on October 28, 2026. We have not tested these speakers; specs are as listed by EarFun. Figures marked “our arithmetic” are our own calculations.

EarFun’s US store lists three UBOOM Bluetooth speakers on its speakers page: the small cylindrical UBOOM ($59.99), the mid-size UBOOM L ($79.99) and the UBOOM X party boombox ($159.99). On paper that is a neat small, medium and large line-up. In practice, when we checked on October 28, 2026, only one of the three was shown as buyable without a stock warning, and the store also had two extra speaker listings with copied product text. Here is what each speaker offers, what is actually in stock, and the small print.

Prices are EarFun US store prices in US dollars on October 28, 2026 and match EarFun’s own Awin product feed. Play times are EarFun’s “up to” figures and vary by volume and content; EarFun’s UBOOM FAQ says its 16 hours is measured at 50% volume.

Stock check: what you can actually buy

Only the UBOOM L was shown in stock. On EarFun’s US speakers page, the UBOOM X carried an “Out Of Stock!” label and the UBOOM an “OUT OF STOCKS!” label, and the same labels appeared on their product pages. The UBOOM page also says: “Due to insufficient inventory in our US warehouse, the orders from US will be sent from our Asia warehouse.” Oddly, the hidden product data on all three pages still says “InStock”, so check the buy button before you plan around a delivery date.

EarFun UBOOM L: the one to buy right now

The UBOOM L is the middle model and, on October 28, 2026, the only UBOOM speaker shown in stock on the US store. EarFun lists two 55mm drivers (2 x 14W, so 28W by our arithmetic) with dual passive radiators and its JumboBass bass processing, Indoor, Outdoor and Video sound modes, Bluetooth 5.0 with a 15m range “(without obstacle)”, a speakerphone, USB-C charging and a 3.5mm aux input. Battery is listed as 2*2600mAh, matching the description’s “5200 mAh”, for up to 16 hours, with about 4 hours to charge.

It is the most water-friendly of the three on paper: IP67, and EarFun says it is “waterproof and salt-water-resistant” and “Plus, it floats too.” You can pair two UBOOM L units: EarFun’s FAQ says speaker A plays the left channel and speaker B the right, and holding the sound-mode button for 2 seconds switches between stereo and party mode. It is rated 4.9 from 172 reviews on EarFun’s page.

The code: the page shows $79.99 (was $99.99, so $20 off by our arithmetic) plus a “30% OFF” code 8AUBL, with a countdown and code data that ends on November 1, 2026. EarFun does not say whether the 30% comes off the $79.99 or the $99.99. By our arithmetic, 30% off $79.99 would be about $55.99; 30% off $99.99 would be about $69.99. Check the cart. Separately, EarFun’s 8th Anniversary page lists the UBOOM L at $52.79 in a “US ONLY” bundle with the EarFun Clip earbuds, $86.38 for the pair (vs $149.98).

EarFun UBOOM: small, but shipping from Asia

EarFun UBOOM cylindrical portable Bluetooth speaker in Black, official EarFun product image

The UBOOM is the compact cylinder: EarFun says it fits a bike’s bottle holder and gives 360° sound from two full-range 45mm drivers (2 x 12W) with dual passive radiators. It has Indoor and Outdoor modes, Bluetooth 5.0 or an AUX wire (EarFun’s FAQ says Bluetooth and AUX cannot play at the same time), a built-in mic and voice assistant support, up to 16 hours of play and about 4 hours to charge over USB-C. It is IPX7, which EarFun explains as “totally submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30-minutes”. Unlike the UBOOM L and UBOOM X, it does not claim to float, and IPX7 carries no dust rating. It has the most reviews of the three: 4.9 from 462.

Small print on the UBOOM page: the speaker on sale is “the latest 2023 version, and it is not compatible with older versions, before 2023, for stereo pairing”, so it may not stereo-pair with an older UBOOM you already own. The battery figures also disagree: the description says “2*2200 mAh”, the spec table says “7.4V, 2200mAh”. And as noted above, it was marked “OUT OF STOCKS!”, with US orders shipped from EarFun’s Asia warehouse.

At $59.99 (was $79.99) it is $20 cheaper than the UBOOM L by our arithmetic. Unless you specifically want the cylinder shape, the in-stock UBOOM L gives you bigger drivers, IP67 and floating for that $20. To see whether the UBOOM is back in stock, check EarFun’s US speakers page.

EarFun UBOOM X: the party speaker (when it is back)

EarFun UBOOM X. Image: EarFun.

The UBOOM X is a different class: a 4.15 kg boombox with a carry handle and strap. That is about 6.4 times the UBOOM L’s weight by our arithmetic. EarFun lists 80W from four drivers (two 4-inch woofers and two 20mm tweeters), Bluetooth 5.3, multi-colour LED lighting, the EarFun Audio app with an “Oluv Tuned Signature EQ”, AUX-IN, Google Assistant and Siri support, and a Party Connect mode that links “up to 50 speakers”. It is IP67, “floatable” and “rustproof”, and its USB-C port can charge your phone (5V / 2A maximum output). Battery is 8400mAh for up to 30 hours. It won a Red Dot Design Award in 2024 and is rated 4.8 from 84 reviews.

An inconsistency on the page: the description says “Get a full charge in just 4 hours with 30W fast charging”, while the spec table says “<6 hours (varies by the output capacity of the adapter)”. Plan for the longer figure unless you have a 30W charger. It was $159.99 (was $189.99, $30 off by our arithmetic) but marked “Out Of Stock!”.

If you get one, our UBOOM X setup guide walks through it in 5 steps. To see whether it is back in stock, check EarFun’s speakers page.

Two look-alike listings to be careful with

The US store also had two speaker pages that are not shown on its speakers page, and both were in stock:

  • “OpenJump Portable Bluetooth Speaker”, $59.99. Its feature list matches the UBOOM L’s word for word (JumboBass, stereo pairing, Indoor/Outdoor/Video modes, IP67, 16 hours, Bluetooth 5.0). But the page has one photo, no spec table and “No User Reviews”.
  • “SWEATSHIELD X Bluetooth Speaker”, $159.99. Its feature list matches the UBOOM X’s (80W 4-driver design, Bluetooth 5.3, up to 50 speakers, IP67, 30 hours, power bank), without the Red Dot line. It also has one photo, no spec table and “No User Reviews”. It costs the same as the UBOOM X, which was out of stock.

The pages do not say what hardware you would receive. Matching text does not prove these are the same speakers. The hidden product data on each page also claims one 5-star review while the visible page shows none. We have not linked these listings. If the $20 saving on the “OpenJump” speaker tempts you, ask EarFun support (service@myearfun.com) exactly which model ships before you order.

Which one should you buy?

  • Most people, right now: UBOOM L. It is in stock, has the bigger drivers, is IP67, floats and has a code on the page (about $55.99 if the 30% comes off $79.99, our arithmetic). Check the UBOOM L price.
  • Smallest, for a bike or bag: UBOOM, if you accept Asia shipping and IPX7 (no dust rating, no floating claim). Note that it will not stereo-pair with a pre-2023 UBOOM.
  • Parties, lights and charging your phone: UBOOM X, once it is back in stock. Budget for 4.15 kg and up to 6 hours of charging.

Shipping, returns and warranty

  • Shipping: EarFun’s shipping policy lists free shipping to the United States from its local US warehouse, 2 – 8 business days. It says orders ship from the Asia warehouse “by default” when local stock is low, as the UBOOM page says it does. It does not ship to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO/DPO addresses, and lists US areas it cannot deliver to, including Alaska, Hawaii and Rhode Island.
  • Returns: “Undamaged products may be returned for a full refund for any reason within 30 days of the date the item was delivered”. For non-quality claims, “the buyer is responsible for shipping costs”. Orders can be cancelled within 12 hours of placing them.
  • Warranty: the written policy says “All quality-related defects on items sold directly by EarFun are covered by an 18-month warranty, starting from the date of purchase.” The product pages show an “18-Month Warranty” badge. Inconsistency: the store’s top banner says “Lifetime Warranty & free 30-day returns”, which the written policy does not support. We go by the 18 months.
