VEVOR Food Dehydrator Buying Guide (2026): 6 to 12 Trays, Tray Sizes, Rotary vs Rear Fan, Listing Traps, Euro Prices

Affiliate disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to VEVOR’s European store (via Awin). If you buy through them, SiftGuide may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every price and spec below comes from VEVOR’s own product pages, product Q&A answers signed “By vevor”, buyer reviews and store policies, checked on October 30, 2026. We have not tested these machines; specs and claims are as listed by the seller. Figures marked “our arithmetic” are our own calculations, and translations of non-English reviews and answers are ours.

EU store, ships in Europe. All links go to eur.vevor.com, VEVOR’s European store. Prices are in euros, VAT included, exactly as the store showed them, with the store’s default delivery country (Ireland) selected. All five pages showed free shipping and free returns. Each page also advertised 5,00 € off for new users on orders of 99,00 € or more placed in the VEVOR app; our prices are before that offer. Prices can change with your delivery country and over time, so the checkout price is the one that counts.

A food dehydrator dries fruit, vegetables, herbs and jerky with warm air and a fan, so they keep for months in a jar. We compared the 5 VEVOR stainless-steel dehydrators that were in stock on the EU store on October 30, 2026, from 103,90 € to 232,90 €. A sixth listing, the SS-06A 6-tray model, showed “Out of Stock” and is left out. Four of the five are sizes of one product family (6, 8, 10 and 12 trays); the fifth is a separate rear-fan box with the biggest trays. The real differences are tray size, airflow and the small print, not the tray count in the title.

All five list stainless-steel trays (304 grade where the page names it), a digital control panel and a built-in LED light so you can watch the food. The H6, H8, FD-1018 and H12 share one review pool (4.6 out of 5 from 265 reviews), so a review on any of those pages may be about a different size; the SS-10X has its own pool (4.8 out of 5 from 326 reviews).

VEVOR SS-10X stainless steel food dehydrator, 10 trays, 1000 W, rear fan, official product image
SS-10X: 10 trays of 377 × 285 mm, rear fan, 0.5–48 h timer, 188,90 € (official VEVOR image).

Count the tray area, not the trays

The H6 and H8 trays are only 28 × 20 cm, a little smaller than a sheet of A4 paper. The FD-1018 trays are 28.5 × 30.5 cm, about 1.55 times bigger, and the SS-10X trays are 37.7 × 28.5 cm, about 1.92 times bigger (our arithmetic). Total drying surface, from the listed tray sizes (our arithmetic):

  • H6-C001: about 3,360 cm²
  • H8-C001: about 4,480 cm²
  • FD-1018: about 8,690 cm², almost twice the H8 for 55,00 € more
  • SS-10X: about 10,740 cm², the most here, for 23,00 € more than the FD-1018
  • H12-CX001: about 8,480 cm² if the twelve 30 cm round trays are full circles; VEVOR lists them as “30 x 30 cm (Round Tray)” without an area

So the 12-tray rotary model does not hold more than the 10-tray SS-10X on paper, and the 8-tray H8 holds about half of a 10-tray model. The trays’ usable height matters too: VEVOR says the SS-10X trays are 3.5 cm apart; the other pages do not list the spacing.

The five models

  • H6-C001, 103,90 €: 6 edge-bound trays of 28 × 20 cm, 400 W, 10.3 L, 30–90 °C and a 24-hour timer, 5.5 kg, 300 × 310 × 250 mm, the smallest here. A German buyer wrote just “Super quiet, good quality” (our translation); an Italian buyer called it simple and essential, working perfectly.
  • H8-C001, 110,90 € (7,00 € more, our arithmetic): the same body two trays taller (300 × 305 × 310 mm, 6.3 kg, 13.2 L), same 400 W and same tray size. VEVOR says it stays under 60 dB with the door closed, has a 201 stainless steel door and a European 220 V plug (answers in Portuguese and Swedish, our translation). An Italian buyer found 2 silicone mats and some mesh mats in the box.
  • FD-1018, 165,90 €: 10 bigger trays (28.5 × 30.5 cm), 1000 W, 25 L, 9.2 kg, 340 × 405 × 365 mm, with two silicone fruit-roll sheets. The temperature range on this page is lower than its siblings (see the listing traps below). A Spanish buyer liked it but said the trays could have a bit more play, some go in a little tight (our translation). No questions have been asked on this page yet.
  • SS-10X, 188,90 €: 10 trays of 377 × 285 mm, each rated for up to 1.7 lb (about 0.77 kg, our conversion), 1000 W, 220 V/50 Hz, 30–90 °C, 0.5–48 h, 11.3 kg, 460 × 420 × 465 mm, about 40 L inside according to VEVOR. A rear fan blows across the trays “without spinning”; the page lists overheating protection, automatic cooling and automatic shutdown. Body in 201 stainless steel (stainless inside too, VEVOR says), trays in 304. The box includes silicone roll sheets, sieves, gloves and paper recipes. A Greek buyer called it “a great dehydrator for home use”; a Polish buyer said it had already run for several dozen hours without a fault (our translation).
  • H12-CX001 rotary, 232,90 €: 12 round 30 cm trays with what VEVOR calls “360° rotating dehydration” plus a fan, 800 W, 45.5 L, 30–90 °C, 24 h, 12.2 kg and the tallest body here (355 × 473 × 495 mm). VEVOR puts the noise at around 60 decibels. A French buyer says he dries pieces of meat in it without the trays or the rotation and makes his own dried sausage, and notes the recipe book is in English (our translation).

Read the listing twice

  • “Freeze Dryer” in the title is wrong. The H6 and H8 titles call them a “Freeze Dryer”. They are warm-air dehydrators (30–90 °C), not vacuum freeze dryers. VEVOR’s own answer on the H8 page says it works by circulating warm air, much like drying in the sun, and is not an oven or a microwave (our translation).
  • The FD-1018 page contradicts itself. Its features say 37.4–77 °C (99–170 °F) and a “48-hour intelligent timer”; the title and description say a 24-hour timer. Its top temperature is also lower than the 90 °C of the other four. If you want higher heat for jerky, ask VEVOR before ordering, or pick the SS-10X, which lists 30–90 °C and 48 h in its spec table.
  • Only two silicone mats, and no spares. Buyers of the H8 (in German and Italian) and the SS-10X (in Spanish) say only two silicone mats came in the box. VEVOR’s answer on the SS-10X page says it does not sell spare trays, silicone sheets or mesh baskets separately; the only parts are those in the box (our translation). For fruit leather on every tray, budget for third-party mats cut to size.
  • No humidity control, simple thermostat. On the SS-10X VEVOR says it does not control humidity and the heating is switched by a relay (on/off), not adjusted electronically.
  • Certificates. On the H6 page VEVOR says the product has CE certification but “does not currently have an EMC certificate”. The SS-10X spec lists FDA certification. Nothing else is listed.
  • Shared reviews. The 265-review pool covers four sizes, so the star rating does not tell you about the 10-tray FD-1018 specifically.
  • Not listed: tray spacing (except the SS-10X), noise for the H6, FD-1018 and SS-10X, and the plug type for the H6, FD-1018 and H12. Only the SS-10X spec lists the voltage (220 V/50 Hz).

Who each dehydrator is for

VEVOR FD-1018 food dehydrator, 10 stainless steel trays, 1000 W, black front with window, official product image
FD-1018: 10 trays of 28.5 × 30.5 cm, 1000 W, 165,90 € (official VEVOR image).

VEVOR H6-C001, 6 trays: 103,90 €

For: herbs, apple rings and small batches in a small kitchen. Skip if: you dry a lot at once; for 7,00 € more the H8 adds two trays.

VEVOR H8-C001, 8 trays: 110,90 €

For: the cheapest sensible pick for regular home use, if the 28 × 20 cm trays are big enough for you. Skip if: you want whole sheets of fruit leather or big jerky strips; the trays are small.

VEVOR FD-1018, 10 trays: 165,90 €

For: almost twice the H8’s drying area at 1000 W, for fruit and vegetables. Skip if: you need 90 °C; its page lists 77 °C max and contradicts itself on the timer.

VEVOR SS-10X, 10 trays: 188,90 €

For: the most tray area here, a 48-hour timer, overheat protection and the best-rated review pool (4.8 out of 5 from 326 reviews). Our pick for most households who dry a lot. Skip if: counter space is tight; it is 460 × 420 × 465 mm and 11.3 kg.

VEVOR H12-CX001 rotary, 12 trays: 232,90 €

For: round rotating trays and the tallest chamber here, which one buyer also uses without trays for meat and dried sausage. Skip if: you are buying for capacity; on paper it has less tray area than the SS-10X and costs 44,00 € more (our arithmetic).

Food safety. Dry meat for jerky at the temperature your recipe or food-safety guidance gives, and store dried food airtight. A dehydrator removes water; it does not sterilise food.

FAQ

Which VEVOR food dehydrator is cheapest?
The 6-tray H6-C001 at 103,90 €, then the 8-tray H8-C001 at 110,90 €. Prices as shown on the EU store on October 30, 2026, delivery set to Ireland, VAT included, free shipping.

Which one holds the most food?
On the listed tray sizes, the SS-10X: ten 377 × 285 mm trays, about 10,740 cm² in total (our arithmetic), each rated for up to 1.7 lb.

Is a VEVOR dehydrator a freeze dryer?
No. Despite “Freeze Dryer” in two titles, these dry food with warm air at 30–90 °C. A freeze dryer uses a vacuum pump and freezing, and is a different machine.

Do they have an EU plug?
VEVOR’s answers on the H8-C001 page say it has a European 220 V plug, and the SS-10X lists 220 V/50 Hz. The other pages do not say.

Can I buy extra trays or silicone mats?
Not from VEVOR, according to its answer on the SS-10X page: the only parts available are those in the box. Several buyers say only two silicone mats are included.

Can the trays go in the dishwasher?
The H6, H8, FD-1018 and H12 pages say the trays are dishwasher-safe, and the SS-10X page says its 304 trays are safe to wash in the dishwasher.
