VEVOR Pottery Wheel Buying Guide (2026): Mini vs Full-Size, 25, 28 and 36 cm Wheel Heads, 280 to 450 W, Clay Capacity, Lift Legs, Euro Prices

Affiliate disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to VEVOR’s European store (via Awin). If you buy through them, SiftGuide may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every price and spec below comes from VEVOR’s own product pages, product Q&A answers signed “By vevor” and store policies, checked on October 27, 2026. We have not tested these wheels; specs and claims are as listed by the seller. Figures marked “our arithmetic” are our own calculations, and translations of non-English text are ours.

EU store, ships in Europe. All links go to eur.vevor.com, VEVOR’s European store. Prices are in euros, exactly as the store showed them, with the store’s default delivery country (Ireland) selected; every page we used said “VAT included” and showed free shipping. Prices can change with your delivery country and with VEVOR’s sales (three of the deals below end October 31), so the checkout price is the one that counts.

An electric pottery wheel spins a round metal or plastic wheel head (VEVOR calls it the turntable) while you centre and pull up clay with wet hands. You control speed with a knob, a lever or a foot pedal, and a basin around the head catches the slurry. VEVOR’s EU store sells two very different things under the same name: mini wheels (5 to 30 W, 5 to 16 cm heads, 1 to 3 kg of clay per the listings) that sit on a table and suit children, miniatures and trimming, and full-size tabletop wheels (280 to 450 W, 25, 28 or 36 cm heads, 3 to 8 kg of clay per the listings) for real throwing of mugs, bowls and vases. We compared 12 VEVOR wheels that were in stock on the EU store on October 27, 2026, from 18,90 € to 170,99 €.

Several listings were out of stock on the day (including a 35.6 cm wheel, several other 25 and 28 cm wheels and some mini wheels) and are left out. Some in-stock listings were near-duplicates of the ones above in another colour, at a slightly different price. We also leave out star ratings, which on these pages are shared across a whole family of models and sizes.

Mini wheel or full-size wheel

The price gap is big for a reason. The three mini wheels here are 5 W and 30 W machines with heads of 5 to 16 cm. The cheapest is USB powered, and a Slovenian buyer calls it “perfect to play around or even do small tiny scale pottery”, while a French buyer uses it as an electric banding wheel (our translation). VEVOR rates the 30 W two-turntable mini for a 1 kg clay load. That is fine for miniatures, small cups, glazing and trimming, and for children. The full-size wheels start at 280 W with a 25 cm head and are what you want if you plan to throw ordinary mugs and bowls.

The YTMN-04 mini (158 mm aluminium head, 30 W) is a middle case: its description says it “supports up to 6.6 lbs of clay”, three times the 30 W two-turntable mini, but its speed tops out at 0-140 rpm, about half the 300 rpm of the full-size wheels. Ask VEVOR before relying on the 6.6 lb figure.

Wheel head size: 25, 28 or 36 cm

The head is the platform you throw on. Most of VEVOR’s tabletop wheels have a 28 cm head (listed as 11 in or 27.9 cm), some a 25 cm head, and two a 14 in head. A larger head gives more room for wide plates and lets you attach bigger bats (removable boards) to lift pieces off, but the clay you can centre is set by the motor, not the head. For mugs, bowls and small vases, 25 or 28 cm is enough. The JCTY-033 ships with two heads, a 28 cm aluminium one and a 36 cm PP plastic one, for 35,00 € more than the single-head JCTY-032 (our arithmetic).

Watts, clay capacity and speed

Clay capacity is the most useful number and the least consistent one on these pages. Per the listings: 1 kg for the 30 W mini, about 4 kg for the orange 350 W wheel (Q&A), 5 kg for the white 350 W 28 cm wheel and both JCTY 450 W wheels, and 8 kg for the 450 W GCJX-007. For the 280 W 25 cm wheel, VEVOR’s answer to “What is the bearing capacity?” was “It is 3/4kg.”, which we read as 3 to 4 kg. As a working rule, a beginner centring 0.5 to 1.5 kg balls of clay for mugs and bowls will not reach any of these full-size limits; the higher numbers matter if you want to throw tall vases or big bowls in one piece.

Speed ranges are similar on all full-size wheels: 60-300 rpm on most, 30-300 rpm on the two JCTY wheels (lower minimum, useful for trimming and decorating) and 0-300 rpm on the orange TYLPJ28-OC. All of them except the two JCTY wheels list both directions (clockwise and counterclockwise), handy for left-handed potters; the JCTY pages do not mention rotation direction.

Pedal, lever, touch screen, lift legs, bats

  • Foot pedal: all nine full-size wheels here list one. On the orange TYLPJ28-OC, VEVOR answered that the pedal cord “is 1.5m long” and that “After the machine is pedaled to set the speed, you can release your foot”. The JCTY-032 and JCTY-033 list a “Hall-effect pedal”.
  • Touch screen and lever: the GCJX-007 (450 W) lists an LCD touch screen and lets you “switch between lever and foot pedal operation”. The JCTY wheels list “Touch Screen & Foot Pedal”.
  • Lift legs: the LSSJ-515 (28 cm) and GCJX-019 (14 in) have adjustable legs; on the LSSJ-515 VEVOR gives a range of “0 – 6 inch / 0 – 150 mm”. Raising the wheel lets you sit on a higher stool or work standing, which is easier on the back.
  • Bats and bat pins: bats are boards that sit on the wheel head so you can lift a fresh pot off without touching it. On the LSSJ-515, VEVOR answered on June 16, 2026: “No, this wheel doesn’t have holes for bat pins.” On the 30 W mini and the GCJX-007, a generic answer says “Our products are equipped with bat pin holes”. If you plan to use bats, ask before you order.
  • Safety: the TYLPJ28-OC, LSSJ-515 and GCJX-019 list a single-phase three-wire connection with an earth leakage protection device.

Read the listing twice

Several listings contradict themselves. We report both versions so you can ask VEVOR before you buy:

  • 25 cm wheel, 280 or 350 W: the title and spec say 280 W. Asked why the page shows both 280 W and 350 W, VEVOR answered on May 10, 2026: “Correct power: 280W (350W is marketing/peak claim)”.
  • 24.9 cm 350 W wheel, clay load and screen: the spec says “Clay Maximum Load 11 lbs / 5 kg” and a 25 cm head, the description says it can “handle 17.6 lbs of clay” with a “9.8 in turntable”, and it also mentions an “advanced LCD touch screen” that the spec does not list.
  • GCJX-007, power missing from the spec: the title and description say 450 W, but the spec table lists no power figure.
  • 14 inch wheel: the spec says “14 in / 35 cm”; 14 in is 35.6 cm (our arithmetic), and neither the spec nor the description lists a clay capacity.
  • “Aluminium body” vs PP plastic: the JCTY-032 lists aluminium as main material, its two-head sibling JCTY-033 lists PP plastic.
  • “Clearance” labels: four of the listings (the 30 W mini, the white 350 W 28 cm wheel, the LSSJ-515 and the JCTY-033) carried a “Clearance” label, so stock may not last.

For: the highest listed clay load here (8 kg) and the most control options: LCD touch screen, lever or foot pedal, 28 cm head, 60-300 rpm, movable bats, 23-piece tool set. Skip if: you want the 450 W rating in the spec table itself; only the title and description state it.

Shipping, returns, plug and payment

  • Shipping: all 12 pages showed “FREE Shipping” and “Get it Fri. Oct. 30 – Wed. Nov. 4” for Ireland on October 27, 2026. The shipping policy says “All products are currently free shipping, except in some remote areas.” and lists 2-6 business days, with more time and an extra fee for heavy and big-size products.
  • Returns and warranty: “All our products come with a 12-months warranty and can be returned for free within 30 days of delivery for approved reasons!”
  • Plug and voltage: several full-size listings state 220 V. VEVOR answered that the 25 cm 280 W wheel and the orange TYLPJ28-OC have an EU (European standard) plug. If you live in Ireland or Malta, where sockets differ, ask VEVOR what plug ships to you.
  • Clay and kiln not included: these are wheels, not kilns. Most kits include tools and an apron; the YTMN-05 and YTMN-04 mini kits also list clay.

FAQ

Which VEVOR pottery wheel is cheapest?
The YTMN-05 kids mini wheel at 18,90 € (deal ending October 31). The cheapest full-size wheel is the 25 cm 280 W model at 108,90 € (deal, was 135,90 €). Prices as shown on the EU store on October 27, 2026, delivery set to Ireland.

Can I throw real mugs on a VEVOR mini pottery wheel?
Small ones, maybe. The minis are 5 W and 30 W machines with 5 to 16 cm heads; VEVOR rates the 30 W two-turntable model for 1 kg of clay. For ordinary mugs and bowls, a full-size wheel (280 W and up, 25 or 28 cm head) is the safer choice.

What size wheel head do I need?
25 or 28 cm is enough for mugs, bowls and small vases. A 14 in (about 36 cm) head helps with wide plates and bigger bats. The clay you can centre depends on the motor and the stated clay load, not the head size.

How much clay can a VEVOR pottery wheel handle?
It depends on the listing: 1 kg for the 30 W mini, 3-4 kg for the 280 W 25 cm wheel (VEVOR answer), about 4 kg for the orange 350 W wheel, 5 kg for the white 350 W and JCTY 450 W wheels, and 8 kg for the GCJX-007. Two listings give no figure.

Do VEVOR pottery wheels have bat pin holes?
Not all. VEVOR says the LSSJ-515 lift-leg wheel does not. Ask before ordering if you plan to use bats.

Do they spin in reverse for left-handed potters?
Most do. The 30 W mini, the YTMN-04 and all full-size wheels here except the two JCTY models list clockwise and counterclockwise rotation; the JCTY pages do not mention direction, so ask VEVOR.

Does VEVOR ship these outside Europe?
The links here go to eur.vevor.com, the European store, which prices in euros and ships within Europe. Outside Europe, use VEVOR’s store for your country.
