VEVOR Heat Press Buying Guide (2026): Clamshell vs Swing-Away vs Drawer vs Auto, 38 x 38 vs 40 x 50 cm, Mug and Hat Presses, Euro Prices

Every price and spec below comes from VEVOR’s own product pages, product Q&A answers signed “By vevor” and store policies, checked on October 26, 2026. We have not tested these presses; specs and claims are as listed by the seller. Figures marked “our arithmetic” are our own calculations, and translations of non-English answers are ours.

EU store, ships in Europe. All links go to eur.vevor.com, VEVOR’s European store. Prices are in euros, exactly as the store showed them (“VAT included”), with the store’s default delivery country (Ireland) selected. They can change with your delivery country and with VEVOR’s sales, so the checkout price is the one that counts. Each product page said “FREE Shipping”; the shipping policy says “All products are currently free shipping, except in some remote areas.”

A heat press is how T-shirts, tote bags, caps and mugs get a printed design: you put a transfer (sublimation paper, heat transfer vinyl or a DTF film) on the item and the press applies heat and pressure for a set time. The big choices are the opening style (clamshell, swing-away, slide-out drawer or automatic), the platen size, and whether you need mug and cap attachments or a dedicated mug or hat press. We compared the eight VEVOR heat presses that were in stock on the EU store on October 26, 2026, from 60,90 € to 331,90 €.

The hat press showed a time-limited deal (“Deal ends Oct 31”) at 104,90 € instead of 120,90 €. Several other VEVOR heat presses were out of stock that day (for example a 25 x 30 cm 2-in-1 at 129,90 € and a 38 x 38 cm swing-away at 180,90 €), so we left them out. We also left out star ratings: several of these listings showed the same review count, so they did not look specific to one model.

Clamshell, swing-away, drawer or auto

  • Clamshell: the top plate hinges up like a book. It is compact and quick, and it is how the large 40.6 x 51 cm TL4050-1 and the hat press open. Your hands work under the raised hot plate, so take care.
  • Swing-away: the top plate lifts and swings to the side, which leaves the bottom plate clear to lay out a shirt. The 5-in-1 black press is sold as “Swing Away”. Swing-away presses need room on the sides as well as on top.
  • Slide-out drawer: the bottom plate pulls out towards you, so, as VEVOR puts it, the design keeps “your hands away from the heating plate when placing and removing items”. On this model the drawer depends on the colour: asked whether only the pink press has the drawer, VEVOR answered (in Portuguese) that the pink and green colours have the pull-out function and the black and white ones do not (our translation). Our link goes to the pink one.
  • Auto release: the AP-999 sets temperature, time and pressure (3 levels) on a digital screen and lifts the plate itself when the time is up (“press any button to stop heating and lift the plate instantly”). It lists up to 231 lbs of pressure (about 105 kg, our conversion), 2.17 in (about 5.5 cm) clearance “for thicker items”, two preset modes plus two custom slots, and “Auto shutoff after 15 mins of idle time”.

“Clamshell” in the title, swing-away in the text. Two listings contradict themselves. The 159,90 € 2-in-1 is titled “2IN1 Clamshell”, but its features say “360° Rotation Arm: This swing-away machine can smoothly rotate 360 degrees” and the official photo shows a swing-away arm; the same page says it comes in “two looks with the same function”, “delivered on a random basis”. The 161,90 € 5-in-1 is titled “Clamshell” but also lists a “360° Swing-Away” feature. If the opening style matters to you, ask VEVOR before ordering.

The timer: on two models VEVOR says the countdown only runs while the press is closed. On the drawer press: “The countdown starts as soon as the product is pressed down.” On the 2-in-1: “the timer will not count down if it is not pressed.” All eight list a 0–999 s timer.

Which platen size

The platen is the heated plate, and it decides the largest design you can press in one go. The 5-in-1 TLM13135 lists 29 x 38 cm (its title says 30.48 x 38.1 cm), which is about 1,102 cm². The 38 x 38 cm presses give about 1,444 cm², roughly 31% more. The TL4050-1 at 40.6 x 51 cm gives about 2,071 cm², roughly 43% more than 38 x 38 cm (all our arithmetic). Four of the eight presses here use 38 x 38 cm, and VEVOR says that plate “accommodates large T-shirts, oversized pillowcases, or canvas bags” (drawer press listing). The bigger plate suits larger prints or several small items at once (our suggestion), and it costs 126,00 € more than the 2-in-1 (our arithmetic) and weighs 27.53 kg.

Mugs and caps: the dedicated mug press takes 11–15 oz mugs, 8.2–8.7 cm across and up to 11 cm tall. VEVOR says it is not suitable for tumblers (“No, this product is not suitable.”) and not for 5.5 cm espresso cups (“No, you can’t.”). The 5-in-1 presses add a mug attachment (11 oz on the black one; 8 cm diameter, 12 cm height on the TLM13135), a curved hat platen and two plate attachments. The dedicated hat press has a 9 x 14 cm curved platen and lists “Golf Caps”; a 2-in-1 with a cap platen costs 55,00 € more but also gives you a 38 x 38 cm press (our arithmetic).

What is not in the box

  • Printer and ink: asked about the 5-in-1, VEVOR answered: “You need to purchase the printer and dye separately.” A heat press only transfers the design; for sublimation you also need a sublimation printer, ink and paper (VEVOR recommends “thermal sublimation transfer paper” for the hat press).
  • Blanks: the black 5-in-1 listing says “T-Shirts, Cups and Hats Are Not Included.”
  • What is included: the mug press listing includes heat-resistant gloves, sublimation papers and tape; for the paper, VEVOR says to print on the white side (“White part”). The AP-999 “comes with a premium sublimation paper and a heat-resistant cloth”.

Read the listing twice: plugs, watts and temperatures

Several listings contradict themselves. We report both numbers so you can ask VEVOR before you buy:

  • Plug on the 161,90 € 5-in-1: the spec list says 220–240 V, but the description heading says “Standard UK Plug”. On the black 5-in-1, VEVOR answered on March 29, 2026: “The plug is a European-style plug.”
  • Voltage on the 40.6 x 51 cm and the auto press: neither spec list states a voltage, and the large press’s SKU code (GDSYD1620110VW3F4V2) contains “110V”. Europe uses 230 V, so confirm the voltage and plug with VEVOR before ordering.
  • Watts: the hat press title says 600W, its spec list says 350W. The black 5-in-1 spec list says 1250W, its features say “whopping 1800W heating power”. The drawer press and the AP-999 list a lower wattage for Europe than for the US (1250 W and 1350 W).
  • Maximum temperature: the 2-in-1 lists 0–250 °C in both places but gives the Fahrenheit range as 32–430 °F in the features and 0–482 °F in the spec list. The large TL4050-1 says 0–299 °C in the features and 0–250 °C in the spec list. We used the spec-list numbers in the table.

Shipping, returns and warranty

  • Shipping: each product page said “FREE Shipping” and “Get it Thur. Oct. 29 – Tues. Nov. 3” for Ireland on October 26, 2026. The shipping policy lists 2-6 business days of delivery, with more time for heavy and big-size products.
  • Returns and warranty: “All our products come with a 12-months warranty and can be returned for free within 30 days of delivery for approved reasons!” For change-of-mind returns, “the buyer will bear the cost of return & restock”, and a 25 kg press is not cheap to send back. On the TL4050-1 page, a VEVOR answer from November 21, 2024 (in Romanian) mentions a two-year warranty and says the products ship from EU countries (our translation), which differs from the 12 months in the policy; ask for the warranty term in writing.

FAQ

Which VEVOR heat press is cheapest?
Of the eight in stock, the F110 mug press at 60,90 € on the EU store (October 26, 2026, delivery set to Ireland). The cheapest flat press for shirts was the 2-in-1 at 159,90 €.

Clamshell or swing-away for T-shirts?
A clamshell opens like a book and takes less room; a swing-away moves the hot plate to the side so you can lay out the shirt with a clear bottom plate. A slide-out drawer pulls the bottom plate towards you instead. Two VEVOR listings here say “Clamshell” in the title but describe a swing-away arm, so check with VEVOR.

Do I need a printer for a heat press?
Yes, for sublimation or printed transfers. VEVOR says the printer and ink are sold separately; the press only applies heat and pressure.

Can the VEVOR mug press do tumblers?
No. VEVOR answered “No, this product is not suitable.” It takes 11-15 oz mugs 8.2-8.7 cm across and up to 11 cm tall.

What size heat press do I need?
Four of the eight VEVOR presses here use 38 x 38 cm, which VEVOR says fits large T-shirts, oversized pillowcases or canvas bags. The 40.6 x 51 cm press has about 43% more area (our arithmetic) for large prints and bags.

Does VEVOR ship these outside Europe?
The links here go to eur.vevor.com, the European store, which prices in euros and ships within Europe (with some non-delivery areas). Check the plug and voltage of your model before ordering. Outside Europe, use VEVOR’s store for your country.
