VEVOR Borescope Buying Guide (2026): Triple-Lens vs Articulating, Cable Length and Probe Size, Euro Prices

Affiliate disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to VEVOR’s European store (via Awin). If you buy through them, SiftGuide may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every price and spec below comes from VEVOR’s own product pages, product Q&A answers signed “By vevor” and store policies, checked on October 28, 2026. We have not tested these borescopes; specs and claims are as listed by the seller. Figures marked “our arithmetic” are our own calculations, and translations of non-English reviews and answers are ours.

EU store, ships in Europe. All links go to eur.vevor.com, VEVOR’s European store. Prices are in euros, exactly as the store showed them, with the store’s default delivery country (Ireland) selected; every page we used said “VAT included” and showed free shipping. Prices can change with your delivery country and over time, so the checkout price is the one that counts.

A borescope (or endoscope camera) is a small camera on the end of a cable, wired to a handheld screen, for looking inside engines, walls, drains and machinery. VEVOR’s EU store had 18 of them in stock on October 28, 2026, from 56,99 € to 126,99 €. They split into two families. Fixed-lens models have one, two or three cameras in the tip and cables of 5, 10 or 15 m. Articulating models let you steer the tip with a knob, two-way (180°) or four-way (360°), but every one we found has a 1.5 m cable. That trade-off, reach against steering, is the main decision. After it come probe diameter, cable stiffness and what the “1080P” in the titles really covers.

Sorted by price. Hours are VEVOR’s “up to” figures; the C43 and 5003 pages give none. The SC15 cable lengths are listed as 9.8 ft and 16.4 ft (about 3 and 5 m, our conversion). Nine more listings were out of stock on the day and are left out. Star ratings are not compared: these pages share a handful of review pools (for example, all seven articulating and motorized models show the same 606 reviews at 4.5 out of 5), so the stars do not tell you about the exact model you pick.

Fixed lens or articulating?

  • Fixed lens, one to three cameras. A front camera shows what is straight ahead. Dual-lens models add a side camera, and triple-lens models two side cameras, so you can look at a pipe wall or cylinder wall without bending the cable. Most fixed models switch between views; the SC8, SC15, ZX41 and the 2+1 triple-lens model can show two at once on a split screen.
  • Articulating. A knob on the grip bends the tip. Two-way models (ZX42, ZX41, ZX2-D2) bend 0 to 180° in one plane; four-way models (SX3, SX4) bend in any direction. That is what you want to look back at the underside of a valve, around a corner inside an engine, or behind a panel. VEVOR says the ZX2-D2 and ZX42 sound a buzzer when the lens gets to 85 °C.
  • The catch: 1.5 m. Every articulating model in stock has a 4.9 ft (1.5 m) cable. That is plenty for an engine bay and useless for a drain or a wall cavity across a room. If you need reach, you are choosing a fixed lens.
  • Price. The articulating models cost 72,99 € to 126,99 €; the fixed ones start at 56,99 €. The SC8 (102,99 €) is a middle way: it rotates its dual-lens tip with a motor, keeps a 5 m cable, and costs 15,00 € more than the two-way articulating dual-lens ZX41 (our arithmetic).

Cable length and stiffness

Length. Engines and machinery: 1.5 to 5 m is enough. Walls, ceilings, vehicles from underneath: 5 m. Drains, sewer runs, wells and long ducts: 10 or 15 m. A US buyer, in a review shown on both SC16 pages, used the camera 30 ft (about 9 m, our conversion) down a well and says the lights and camera work, but wishes it could “zoom out”: up close is sharp, a wide view means moving the cable around.

Stiffness. A stiffer cable pushes further down a pipe before it buckles; a softer one follows bends. VEVOR lists four kinds: “semi-rigid” (the C43, 5003 and the 4.5" and 2+1 triple-lens models), “Rigid” (SC14, SC17), “Rigid Snake” (the two-way articulating models and SC8) and “Flexible Snake” (SX3, SX4). The 10 m SC16 has a “Newly Ultra-Rigid Cable”, and VEVOR suggests: “You can bind fish tape to camera” for extra push. Do not expect any of them to turn tight plumbing bends: on the 15 m triple-lens 5003, a buyer in Romania writes “în coturi nu trece cu ușurință” (it does not get through bends easily, our translation), and a buyer in France: “Hélas ne passe pas dans des coudes droit de 50mm” (sadly it will not pass 50 mm right-angle elbows, our translation). The French buyer adds that the image quality was impressive and the refund went through without problems.

Probe diameter

The probe must fit the hole you are looking through: a spark plug hole, a drilled 10 mm hole in plasterboard, an oil filler. Fifteen of the 18 listings have an 8 mm tip. The slimmer ones are the dual-lens SC14 at 5.5 mm (57,99 €), the two-way ZX42 at 6.2 mm (82,99 €, 10,00 € more than the 8 mm ZX42, our arithmetic) and the ZX2-D2 at 6.4 mm (106,90 €). The articulating pages also show 3.9 mm options in their selectors, but none of those was among the in-stock listings we could check.

Resolution, screen and battery

“1080P” is usually the photo size, not the camera. The SC14, SC15, SC16, SC17, ZX41 and ZX42 pages describe a “1280*720 HD lens”. The 10 m SC16 says it “supports 1920*1080P photo capture” but “1280*720 video recording”. The 4.5" triple-lens model and the 5003 list 1920 x 1080 for the lens. The screens themselves are 854 x 480 on most 4.5 and 5" models; the 7" SC15 is 600 x 1024. For spotting a crack, a leak or a lost screw, a 720p camera on a 5" screen is enough; for documenting work for a client, the 1080 models are worth a look.

Battery. 2000 mAh (C43, 5003) to 7000 mAh (SX4). VEVOR quotes 3 to 4 hours for the 2600-3000 mAh models and 5 to 6 hours for 5000 mAh and up. All of these record to the included 32 GB card; on the 4.5" triple-lens model, VEVOR answered in Swedish that the card holds “35~40 minuter” (35 to 40 minutes, our translation) of continuous video.

Read the listing twice

Several listings are confusing or contradict each other. We report what we found so you can check the options in your cart or ask VEVOR before you buy:

  • The option selector disagrees with the page. The SX4 (126,99 €) is titled “1.5m Snake Cable” and “7000mAh Battery”, and its spec table says 1.5 m and 7000 mAh, but its option selector showed “2 m” and “6000mAh” for that price. The SC8 (102,99 €) is titled “5m Snake Cable” with an 8 mm probe in its specs, while the selector showed “2 m” and “8.5 mm”. The slim SC14 says 5.5 mm in its specs and “5.0 mm” in its selector. Check what is actually in the cart.
  • Same model number, different product. “SC16” is both the 10 m triple-lens model (69,99 €) and a 1.5 m one (63,99 €): only 6,00 € more buys 8.5 m more cable (our arithmetic). The 1.5 m SC16 also costs 2,00 € more than the 5 m triple-lens SC14. “SC14” and “ZX42” also each name two different listings. Quote the price and cable length, not just the model, if you contact VEVOR.
  • Probe or cable? On the 15 m dual-lens C43, the features describe an “8mm slim” lens, while VEVOR answered that the outside diameter of the cable “is 5.3MM”. The tip is what has to fit through the hole, so plan for 8 mm. Both 15 m titles say “1499.6 cm Cable”, a conversion of 49.2 ft; the spec table says 15 m.
  • Typos on the 4.5" triple-lens model. The spec table says 854 x 480 and “6+2” LEDs; the features say “854 x 450” and “8+2 lights”.
  • Thin review history. Both SC16 listings share just 5 reviews, with 20% one-star. The 5003, C43, SC14, SC15 and SC17 pages show 8% one-star reviews in their shared pools, against 2% on the two triple-lens models that share 531 reviews.
  • No case with some models. Asked whether the 5003 comes with a bag or case, VEVOR answered: “No, there are no storage bags or suitcases.” The SX3 and SX4 product photos show a carry case.

VEVOR SC8: dual lens with 360° motorized rotation, 5″ split screen, 8 mm probe, 5 m rigid snake cable (official VEVOR image).

VEVOR ZX2-D2 two-way articulating, 6.4 mm: 106,90 €

For: engine work through small holes: 6.4 mm articulating tip, 5" screen, 4500 mAh, 85 °C alarm. Skip if: you compare on price: the 6.2 mm ZX42 is 23,91 € less (our arithmetic), with a smaller 4.3" screen.

VEVOR SX3 four-way 360° / SX4, 6": 118,99 € / 126,99 €

For: full steering in any direction, flexible snake cable and a carry case in the photos. The SX4 adds a 6" screen and a bigger battery for 8,00 € more (our arithmetic). A buyer in the Netherlands likes the 1.5 m length for the work it is meant for. Skip if: you need more than 1.5 m; nothing four-way in stock goes further.

The other listings, the 5 m dual-lens C43 (58,90 €), the 5 m triple-lens SC14 (61,99 €), the 1.5 m SC16 (63,99 €) and the 7" SC15 with two cables (108,99 €), are in the table above; the 1.5 m SC16 is the one to skip, because the 10 m version is only 6,00 € more.

FAQ

Which VEVOR borescope is cheapest?
The triple-lens SC17 at 56,99 €: 4.5″ screen, 5 m rigid cable, 8 mm probe. The cheapest articulating model is the two-way ZX42 (8 mm) at 72,99 €. Prices as shown on the EU store on October 28, 2026, delivery set to Ireland.

Articulating or triple-lens?
Articulating if you work on engines and machinery and need to look back or around corners; every articulating model here has a 1.5 m cable. Triple-lens if you need reach (5, 10 or 15 m) and want to see pipe or cylinder walls without steering.

Which one is best for drains?
A long, stiff cable: the 10 m SC16 with its “ultra-rigid” cable, or the 15 m C43 and 5003. Reviews of the 15 m model say it does not pass tight elbows such as 50 mm right-angle bends, so expect to inspect from both ends.

Will it fit through a spark plug hole?
Most models here have an 8 mm tip. The slimmest in stock are the dual-lens SC14 (5.5 mm), the ZX42 (6.2 mm) and the ZX2-D2 (6.4 mm). Measure your hole first.

Is “1080P” the video resolution?
Often not. Several pages describe a 1280*720 lens; the 10 m SC16 takes 1920*1080 photos but records 1280*720 video. The 4.5″ triple-lens model and the 5003 list a 1920 x 1080 lens.

Are they waterproof?
The probes are listed as IP67 waterproof. VEVOR answered on the 5003 that only the cable and camera parts can be submerged, not the screen unit.
