A sewer camera (drain or pipe inspection camera) is a waterproof camera head with LEDs on the end of a semi-rigid fibreglass cable that you push into a drain to see roots, cracks, grease or a collapsed section before anyone digs. It is the bigger, longer cousin of a borescope. VEVOR’s EU store had 13 sewer camera listings in stock on October 29, 2026, from 205,99 € to 1.185,90 €. The choice comes down to six things: how far you need to go (20 to 100 m of cable), the pipe sizes, where you watch the picture (your phone over Wi-Fi or a 4.3 to 10.1″ screen), whether the image stays upright (self-leveling), whether you need to find the camera from above ground (512 Hz sonde and locator), and how many hours of battery you get.

Sorted by price. Specs as listed by VEVOR; “not listed” means the page does not say. Right-angle (elbow) pipes have a larger minimum: 50 mm on every model. Star ratings are not compared: these pages share four review pools (the two WiFi listings share 22 reviews at 3.4 out of 5, the three 4.3″ listings share 266 at 4.3, the three 7″ listings share 360 at 4.4, and the five 9″ and 10.1″ listings share 574 at 4.1), so the stars do not tell you about the exact model you pick.

Phone over Wi-Fi or built-in screen
- Wi-Fi to your phone. The cheapest listing, the 205,99 € WP9650, has no monitor: it “supports wireless Wi-Fi connectivity to your phone or tablet, replacing bulky monitors”, with a 1920 x 1080 lens, 120° view, 12 LEDs and photo, video and audio capture on the phone. A Belgian buyer used it to find roots blocking the pipe under his pavement, notes that renting one would have cost him close to 240 € at Loxam, and advises: “for the app in Europe, go straight to the Play Store, don’t bother with the QR code” (our translation). But this pool has the weakest rating here, 3.4 out of 5 from 22 reviews, with 32% one-star.
- 4.3″ screen. Small, light (3.1 to 3.6 kg) reel units with the screen on top. The WP9602B costs only 8,91 € more than the WiFi model at 20 m (our arithmetic). A French buyer says it would have saved him paying 143 € “for nothing” before the wastewater inspection required to sell his house (our translation).
- 7″ screen in a case. The 7″ models come in a carrying case with a DVR and 16 GB card. The screen itself is listed as “7-inch 480p”; the camera is listed as 1000TVL with a 25 mm 303 stainless steel head and sapphire lens.
- 9″ and 10.1″ screens. 1080P displays and 32 GB cards (the locator and distance-counter models add a sunshade), with 36x digital zoom on the WP9608F/FTR and 3x on the WP9612FT/13FT. The 10.1″ is a touchscreen, and the 9″ WP9612FT and both 10.1″ models have an input keyboard to type notes into the recording.

Cable length, thickness and pipe sizes
Length. Buy for the longest run you will push, plus some spare: from the inspection chamber to the street sewer is often longer than it looks. A US buyer of the 20 m WiFi model pushed it through 2″ pipe, two short-radius 90° bends and two 45°s, and about 40 ft (roughly 12.2 m, our arithmetic) in before it became hard to push. In small pipe with many bends, the usable length can be much shorter than the cable.
Thickness. Most listings use a 5 mm fibreglass cable. The WP9612FT and WP9613FT use a “thickened” 7 mm cable, which is stiffer for long pushes in bigger pipes and heavier (11.5 to 18.1 kg on stainless steel frames; the 9″ 30 m and the 100 m list auxiliary wheels).
Pipe sizes. The listed straight-pipe range is 25 or 30 to 100 mm for the 4.3″ WP9602B and WP9604B, 25 to 150 mm for the WiFi, 9″ and 10.1″ models, 50 to 150 mm for the self-leveling 4.3″ WP9602F, and 30 to 200 mm for the 7″ models. Through elbows, every listing starts at 50 mm. Asked about 200–250 mm pipes on the 100 m model, VEVOR answered “We can not use it to 200mm – 250mm pipe.” In a Romanian answer it explains why: the lens’s field of view is not enough for large pipes, the rod is not stiff enough and drifts, and there is no centring frame in the box.

Self-leveling heads
A normal camera head turns with the cable, so the picture rolls and you lose track of which way is up. A self-leveling head has a gravity sensor that “automatically keeps images upright”, so you can tell whether a crack or a root is at the top or the bottom of the pipe. On VEVOR’s EU store it starts with the 4.3″ WP9602F at 304,90 €, which is 78,00 € more than the non-leveling 4.3″ WP9602B at 30 m (226,90 €, our arithmetic) and also adds 12 LEDs instead of 6. Every 9″ and 10.1″ model here is self-leveling. The WiFi and 7″ models are not.

Finding the problem: markings, distance counter, 512 Hz locator
Seeing the problem is half the job; the other half is knowing where to dig. There are three levels:
- Length markings printed on the cable tell you roughly how far in the head is. The WP9608FTR has them “at 3ft/0.9m intervals”. The WiFi listing does not mention markings.
- On-screen distance counter (WP9612FT 9″ and 10.1″, WP9613FT) measures how much cable is in the pipe and shows it on screen. VEVOR says on the 10.1″ that you can switch the unit from feet to metres in the settings.
- 512 Hz sonde and locator. A small transmitter (sonde) in the head sends a 512 Hz signal; a hand-held receiver above ground finds it, so you know where to dig. VEVOR says the 7″ kit’s receiver picks the signal up “only within a range of 5 metres” (our translation of a Greek answer). Watch which half you are buying:
Transmitter is not the same as locator.
- The 7″ 30 m kit (532,90 €) and the 9″ WP9608FTR (659,90 €) include the receiver. But on the WP9608FTR, VEVOR says: “We do NOT provide the battery for the 512HZ locator. Customers need to purchase it separately.”
- The WP9612FT and WP9613FT (9″ and 10.1″, 699,90 € to 1.185,90 €) have the sonde and a distance counter, but the listing says the locator is “not included”. Asked in Slovak, VEVOR confirmed that the receiver is not in the box, is not sold as a combo, and has to be bought separately. It also said it can issue a VAT invoice to VAT-registered buyers.
- So the 699,90 € WP9612FT costs 40,00 € more than the WP9608FTR (our arithmetic) but comes without a receiver; you get a 7 mm cable, a distance counter and a wheeled stainless frame instead.

What these cameras cannot do
- Measure the pipe. Asked whether it can measure the inside diameter of the pipe, VEVOR answered: “No, it cannot be measured.”
- Look around. “We do not have a camera with 360° rotation.” The view is straight ahead, 120 to 145° wide depending on the model.
- See through muddy water. For borehole use VEVOR says: “If the water is turbid, the camera cannot be used, as the video image will be unclear. It can withstand 10 meters of water pressure.”
- Chimneys. “If there is smoke in the chimney, it cannot be used.” A later French answer advises against chimney use altogether (heat, ash and corrosive particles) and says resulting damage would not be covered by the warranty.
- Work while charging. On the WP9608F, VEVOR says in Czech not to use the device while it is charging.
- Spare heads. On a 7″ model: “We do not sell parts separately.” Under warranty, VEVOR says it can send a replacement part free of charge (consumables excepted). It also says the 7″ battery is replaceable.
Read the listing twice
Several listings are confusing or contradict each other. We report what we found so you can check before you buy or ask VEVOR:
- Same 7″ selector, different specs. The 20 m 7″ page lists a 1000TVL camera, 130° and 6 hours. The 50 m H6 page, reached from the same length selector, lists “Lens Resolution 720P”, 120° and 6–8 hours.
- Screen vs camera resolution. The 7″ screens are listed as 480p and the WP9604B 4.3″ as 480P; the self-leveling 4.3″ claims a “1080P HD” screen. Whatever the camera records, a small or low-resolution screen limits what you see on site; recordings can be reviewed on a computer.
- IP67 or IP68? The two 10.1″ titles say “IP67”; their descriptions say “IP68 waterproof sapphire lens”. The other listings say IP68.
- Options you cannot buy. Several selectors show lengths such as 40, 70, 91 or 120 m as “See available options”, with no price. Only the lengths with a price were buyable when we checked.
- Reviews are pooled across lengths and models, as described under the table.

VEVOR WP9602B 4.3″, 20 m: 214,90 €
For: the cheapest model with its own screen and length markings, 3.1 kg, for 30–100 mm pipes (house drains, not the street sewer). Skip if: your pipes are bigger than 100 mm.
VEVOR WP9604B 4.3″, 8500 mAh, 30 m: 255,90 €

For: the cheapest self-leveling head, 12 LEDs, 3.6 kg. Skip if: your pipes are under 50 mm (the listed minimum) or you want a big screen.

VEVOR WP9608F self-leveling 9″, 30 m: 439,90 €
For: a serious home or trade tool without locating: 9″ 1080P with 36x digital zoom, self-leveling, 6–8 h, only 4.8 kg. A Hungarian pipe fitter calls it compact, light and very reliable. Skip if: you need to find the head from above ground.
VEVOR 7″ with 512 Hz locator, 30 m: 532,90 €
For: the cheapest kit with a receiver in the box; 30–200 mm pipes. It costs 243,00 € more than the plain 7″ at 30 m (289,90 €, our arithmetic). Skip if: you want self-leveling: VEVOR says this one has no autofocus and no self-balance.
VEVOR WP9608FTR 9″ with 512 Hz locator, 30 m: 659,90 €
For: the most complete kit: self-leveling, 9″ 1080P, cable marked every 0.9 m, transmitter and receiver, aluminium case, 6.4 kg. 220,00 € more than the WP9608F without the locator (our arithmetic). Skip if: you forget the receiver’s battery: it is not included.
VEVOR WP9612FT 9″, distance counter, 30 m / 10.1″ touch, 50 m / WP9613FT 100 m: 699,90 € / 874,90 € / 1.185,90 €
For: trades who already own a 512 Hz receiver: 7 mm cable, on-screen distance counter, keyboard, stainless steel frame (wheels listed on the 9″ and 100 m). The 10.1″ touch at 50 m is 105,00 € more than the 9″ at 50 m (769,90 €), and the 100 m is 311,00 € more than the 50 m (our arithmetic). Skip if: you do not have a receiver (none is included), you work in 200 mm+ pipes, or you need to carry it: 11.5 to 18.1 kg.
Safety. Sewers carry bacteria and gases: wear gloves, clean and disinfect the cable as you reel it in, and never climb into a manhole yourself. If the camera finds a collapsed or broken pipe under a public road or shared line, talk to your water company or a drainage contractor before you dig.

FAQ
Which VEVOR sewer camera is cheapest?
The WP9650 WiFi with 20 m of cable at 205,99 €; it uses your phone or tablet as the screen. The cheapest with a built-in screen is the 4.3″ WP9602B at 214,90 €. Prices as shown on the EU store on October 29, 2026, delivery set to Ireland.
Sewer camera or borescope?
A borescope has a thin, short probe for engines, walls and small holes. A sewer camera has a stiff fibreglass push cable of 20 to 100 m and a bigger, more robust head for drains and sewer pipes of about 25 to 200 mm.
How much cable do I need?
Enough to reach from your access point to the problem, with some to spare. 20 to 30 m covers most house drains; bends and small pipes reduce how far you can push.
Do I need a locator?
Only if you need to find the camera from above ground to dig in the right place. The 7″ 30 m kit and the 9″ WP9608FTR include a 512 Hz receiver (the WP9608FTR without its battery); the WP9612FT and WP9613FT have the transmitter but no receiver.
What does self-leveling mean?
The image stays upright however the head turns, so you know which side of the pipe a crack or root is on. All 9″ and 10.1″ models here and the 4.3″ WP9602F have it.
Can it go in big sewers or chimneys?
The listed maximum is 150 mm (200 mm for the 7″ models), and VEVOR says the 100 m model cannot be used in 200–250 mm pipe. VEVOR says not to use them in chimneys with smoke and that chimney damage would not be covered by the warranty.
