VEVOR Fruit Press Buying Guide (2026): Wood Basket vs Stainless Steel, 1.65 to 18 Litres, Manual vs Electric Apple Crushers, Euro Prices

Affiliate disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to VEVOR’s European store (via Awin). If you buy through them, SiftGuide may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every price and spec below comes from VEVOR’s own product pages, product Q&A answers signed “By vevor” and store policies, checked on October 27, 2026. We have not tested these presses; specs and claims are as listed by the seller. Figures marked “our arithmetic” are our own calculations (including price per litre and US gallon conversions), and translations of non-English reviews and answers are ours.

EU store, ships in Europe. All links go to eur.vevor.com, VEVOR’s European store. Prices are in euros, exactly as the store showed them, with the store’s default delivery country (Ireland) selected; every page we used said “VAT included” and showed free shipping. Prices can change with your delivery country and over time, so the checkout price is the one that counts.

Autumn is pressing season, and VEVOR’s EU store sells everything between a 1.65-litre countertop press for a few bags of grapes and an 1100 W crusher that VEVOR rates at 164 kg of fruit an hour. The choice comes down to three questions: wood or stainless steel basket, how many litres, and how you will crush the fruit first, because VEVOR itself says apples “must be cut into pieces and crushed with a grinder” before they go into its presses. We compared 8 presses and 3 crushers that were in stock on the EU store on October 27, 2026, from 51,90 € to 435,99 €.

Many listings were out of stock on the day and are left out: most of VEVOR’s small 2-barrel presses (2, 3, 5, 6 and 12 L), the 3 and 6 L T-handle presses, a 30 L beech press, the 30 L hydraulic press and two older wood basket presses. Star ratings are not compared because eight of these pages show the same pool of 202 reviews (3.8 out of 5) shared across the whole family of sizes and materials.

Crush first: manual or electric crusher

A press squeezes juice out of mash; it does not chop fruit. Asked whether hard cooking apples need coring, VEVOR answered: “Apples do not need to be pitted, but they must be cut into pieces and crushed with a grinder before being put into this press for juice extraction.” The 18 L wood press listing repeats it: “The hard fruits must be crushed before pressing”. Grapes and soft berries can go in whole; apples and pears need a crusher (cider makers call it a scratter).

  • Manual LD-OM7 (69,90 €): a 7 L stainless steel hopper over cast aluminium gears that you turn with a crank. It sits on the rim of the press barrel (“Simply place the crusher over your fruit wine press”). VEVOR recommends cutting large or hard fruit into smaller pieces first, and a US buyer confirms: “Must cut apples in half or quarters.”
  • Electric YF-01, 550 W (298,99 €): countertop, 2 kg per load, rated at 60 kg an hour, takes whole apples up to 70 mm across, with a waterproof safety switch. A US buyer says “About 5 gallons of crushed apples yielded 2.5 gallons of juice” (about 18.9 L of mash to 9.5 L of juice, our arithmetic) and that only “VERY large apples need to be cut in half”.
  • Electric YF-02, 1100 W (435,99 €): floorstanding, 22.7 kg per load, rated at 164 kg an hour, whole apples up to 80 mm. A buyer in Estonia, in a review shown on the same pages, ran 2 crates of 15 kg each and says the crusher was on for “like 5 minutes” for the 30 kg. The YF-02 costs 137,00 € more than the YF-01 (our arithmetic).

Stone fruit is different: VEVOR says peaches, plums and apricots “must be pitted before crushing” in the electric crushers.

Wood or stainless steel basket

Wood (beech) baskets are the traditional cider press: slats with gaps between them, a thick wooden pressing block on top and wooden blocks stacked on it as the mash goes down. The LD-BP6, LD-BP12 and LD-BP18 have “one thick beechwood pressing block and eight supporting blocks” and a long lever handle; the LD-BP1802 has a 24 mm beech pressing plate and a T-shaped handle bar. VEVOR says the beech gives fruit wine “a subtle, natural woody aroma”. Wood needs to dry fully after washing and is harder to sanitise than steel. On the 18 L wood press, a US buyer notes you “may need to add a couple 2 blocks for the Grapes”, because grape mash compresses further than the supplied blocks reach.

Stainless steel baskets are perforated steel drums: easier to clean, nothing to rot or split, and no taste of their own. The LD-BP1402 14 L press has a 304 stainless basket you can lift out and a cast iron cross-beam that swings open for loading. Its listing asks you to oil the non-food-contact metal parts with food-grade lubricant to prevent corrosion. The small FP1.5-S has two stainless barrels and a stainless pressing plate, but its column is aluminium alloy and its base is spray-coated steel.

How many litres, and price per litre

The litre figure is the size of the basket, so it measures how much crushed fruit you can load per pressing, not how much juice comes out. The US buyer quoted above got roughly half the volume of mash back as juice. Rough sizing: 1.65 L for herbs, tinctures, a few kilos of grapes or cheese; 6 L for a balcony vine or a small apple tree; 12 to 18 L when you have several trees or want to fill a demijohn in one afternoon. VEVOR answered a Greek buyer that the 14 L press will easily handle the grapes from 5 vines (our translation).

  • Price per litre (our arithmetic): 14,66 €

Press: LD-BP1402 stainless

  • Price: 142,90 €
  • Price per litre (our arithmetic): 10,21 €

Press: LD-BP1501 stainless

  • Capacity: 15 L
  • Price: 132,99 €
  • Price per litre (our arithmetic): 8,87 €

Press: LD-BP1802 beech

  • Capacity: 18 L
  • Price: 151,99 €
  • Price per litre (our arithmetic): 8,44 €

The 18 L wood press is the cheapest per litre by far, and on October 27, 2026 it was even 3,00 € cheaper than the 12 L version of the same press (our arithmetic). The tiny FP1.5-S costs the most per litre, as small presses always do.

Read the listing twice

Several listings are confusing or contradict each other. We report what we found so you can ask VEVOR before you buy:

  • 15 L stainless and 18 L beech share one page: the LD-BP1501 (stainless, 132,99 €) and LD-BP1802 (beech basket, 151,99 €) appear as “15 L” and “18 L” options of the same listing, so choosing a capacity also changes the basket material. Both spec tables give the same 400 x 320 x 610 mm size, although one holds 3 L more and weighs 12.0 kg against 18.0 kg. Check the photo of the option you pick.
  • 18 L for less than 12 L: the LD-BP18 wood press was 94,90 € and the LD-BP12 97,90 €. Same design and 370 mm basket diameter; the 18 L is taller (705 mm against 580 mm) and 3.4 kg heavier.
  • 1.65 L or 1.5 L: the FP1.5-S is sold as 1.65 L in the title and spec table, but the capacity selector on the same page says “1.5 L”.
  • Filter bags: the FP1.5-S listing says it comes with two food-grade filter bags and tells you to put the fruit in a filter bag. But VEVOR answered a Romanian buyer that stainless steel presses generally do not need a filter mesh, and that it does not sell accessories separately (our translation). Plan to buy spare press bags elsewhere.
  • Do not over-crank thin plates: the LD-BP1501 has a 4.5 mm steel pressing plate. A US review shown on its page says “If you really crank down on the threads and try to get every last drop of apple juice the thick top plate will start to warp.” The beech LD-BP1802 has a 24 mm wooden plate instead.

Who each press is for

VEVOR FP1.5-S 2-barrel press, 1.65 L: 51,90 €

For: herbs, tinctures, soft fruit, cheese and a few kilos of grapes on a kitchen counter: two stainless barrels that come apart for cleaning, a stainless pressing plate, T-handle, two filter bags, 3.2 kg. The page showed “Only 1 Left”. Skip if: you have apple trees; for 10,00 € more the 6 L wood press holds almost four times as much (our arithmetic).

VEVOR FP1.5-S: 1.65 L, two stainless barrels, T-handle, 3.2 kg (official VEVOR image).

VEVOR LD-BP6 wood basket press, 6 L: 61,90 €

For: a first cider or wine press on a budget: beech slat basket, beech pressing block plus eight supporting blocks, triangular base, lever handle, two filter bags, 6.7 kg. “Only 1 Left” on the day. Skip if: you pick more than a crate or two at a time.

VEVOR LD-BP18 wood basket press, 18 L: 94,90 €

For: the best value here: the same design as the 6 L at 18 L, 14 kg, and the lowest price per litre (5,27 €, our arithmetic). A buyer in Ireland writes “Home use, small batches very good.” Skip if: you want a basket you can scrub like a pot; and buy the 18 L rather than the 97,90 € 12 L unless height is a problem.

VEVOR LD-BP12 wood basket press, 12 L: 97,90 €

For: a lower press (580 mm tall) with the same 370 mm basket diameter as the 18 L, 10.6 kg. Skip if: the 18 L fits under your shelf; it was cheaper on the day.

VEVOR LD-BP0902 cross-beam stainless press, 9 L: 131,90 €

For: a stainless steel basket with the cross-beam and triangular base of a bigger press, at 9 L and 14.1 kg. A French buyer bought it to press Chasselas grapes for wine in a small cellar, and a Mexican buyer reports that the first one arrived damaged and VEVOR sent another at no cost (our translations). Skip if: you can stretch 11,00 € more for the 14 L (our arithmetic).

VEVOR LD-BP1402 cross-beam stainless press, 14 L: 142,90 €

For: grapes and apples from a real garden harvest: removable 304 stainless basket, cast iron cross-beam that swings open for loading, T-handle, two filter bags, 15.4 kg. VEVOR says it handles 5 vines easily. Skip if: you want wood; it is 10,21 € per litre against 5,27 € for the 18 L wood press (our arithmetic).

VEVOR LD-BP1501 stainless press, 15 L: 132,99 €

For: the cheapest large stainless press here: 15 L removable bucket, T-handle, two filter bags, 12.0 kg. “Only 1 Left” on the day. Skip if: you press hard: see the warning above about its 4.5 mm plate.

VEVOR LD-BP1802 beech basket press, 18 L: 151,99 €

For: a traditional-looking beech basket press with a 24 mm beech plate and a two-hand T-shaped handle bar instead of a lever, two reusable filter bags, 18.0 kg. Skip if: price matters: the LD-BP18 is also 18 L of beech for 57,09 € less (our arithmetic).

Press + crusher setups

  • Cheapest apple setup: LD-OM7 manual crusher + LD-BP18 18 L wood press = 164,80 € (our arithmetic). Cut apples in halves or quarters first.
  • Stainless setup: LD-OM7 + LD-BP1402 14 L stainless press = 212,80 € (our arithmetic).
  • Several trees: YF-01 550 W electric crusher + LD-BP18 = 393,89 € (our arithmetic). Whole apples up to 70 mm, no cutting.
  • Small orchard: YF-02 1100 W crusher + LD-BP1802 beech press = 587,98 € (our arithmetic).

Shipping, returns and warranty

  • Shipping: all eleven pages showed “FREE Shipping” and “Get it Fri. Oct. 30 – Wed. Nov. 4” for Ireland on October 27, 2026. The shipping policy says “All products are currently free shipping, except in some remote areas.” and lists 2-6 business days, with more time and an extra fee for heavy and big-size products.
  • Returns and warranty: “All our products come with a 12-months warranty and can be returned for free within 30 days of delivery for approved reasons!”
  • Stock: five of the eleven pages showed “Only 1 Left”, and most smaller presses were already sold out, so expect listings to change during the season.

FAQ

Which VEVOR fruit press is cheapest?
The FP1.5-S 2-barrel press at 51,90 € for 1.65 L. The cheapest full-size cider press is the LD-BP6 6 L wood press at 61,90 €, and the cheapest per litre is the LD-BP18 18 L wood press at 94,90 €. Prices as shown on the EU store on October 27, 2026, delivery set to Ireland.

Do I need a crusher to press apples?
Yes. VEVOR says apples must be cut into pieces and crushed with a grinder before pressing. Whole or sliced apples in a press give very little juice. Grapes and soft fruit can go straight in.

Do I need to core apples?
No. VEVOR answered that apples do not need to be pitted (cored), only cut and crushed. Stone fruit such as peaches, plums and apricots must be pitted before going into the electric crushers.

Wood or stainless steel basket for wine?
Both work. Beech is traditional and VEVOR says it adds a subtle woody aroma; stainless steel is easier to clean and sanitise and adds no flavour. If you make cider and wine every year and want minimal upkeep, stainless; if you want the cheapest large press, the LD-BP18 wood press.

How much juice will I get?
It depends on the fruit. One US buyer of the 550 W crusher got about 2.5 US gallons of juice from 5 gallons of crushed apples, roughly half the volume of mash (our arithmetic). The press capacity is the basket volume, not the juice yield.

Are filter bags included?
The FP1.5-S, LD-BP6/12/18, LD-BP1402, LD-BP1501 and LD-BP1802 listings each mention two filter bags. VEVOR says it does not sell accessories separately, so buy spares elsewhere.

Does VEVOR ship these outside Europe?
