VEVOR Laser Engraver Buying Guide (2026): Diode vs CO2 vs Galvo, Real Speeds, Listing Traps, Euro Prices

Affiliate disclosure: this post contains affiliate links to VEVOR’s European store (via Awin). If you buy through them, SiftGuide may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every price and spec below comes from VEVOR’s own product pages, spec lists, product Q&A answers signed “By vevor”, buyer reviews and store policies, checked on October 30, 2026. We have not tested these machines; specs and claims are as listed by the seller. Figures marked “our arithmetic” are our own calculations, and translations of non-English answers are ours.

EU store, prices on a deal clock. All links go to eur.vevor.com, VEVOR’s European store. Prices are in euros, VAT included, exactly as the store showed them on October 30, 2026, with Romania as the delivery country the store selected for us. Nine of the ten prices are deal prices marked “Deal ends Oct 31” or “Deal ends Nov. 1”; after that they may go back up, so check the price at checkout. Five pages showed free shipping and the five heaviest a 40,00 € shipping fee: VEVOR’s shipping policy charges per item of 30 kg and above in a few countries (10 € to Ireland and Portugal, 30 € to Finland and Croatia, 40 € to Romania), so that fee depends on where you live. Each page also advertised 5,00 € off orders of 99,00 € or more on your first 3 app orders; our prices are before that offer.

A laser engraver burns a design into wood, leather, card or coated metal, and the stronger ones cut thin sheets too. VEVOR’s EU store sells three very different kinds under the same name: enclosed diode machines, CO2 tube machines and small portable galvo units. We went through the 10 listings that were in stock on October 30, 2026, from 247,90 € to 2.044,90 €. The real differences are the laser type, the bed size, which materials it can cut, the safety class and the shipping, not the watts or the speed in the title, which are measured in different ways.

Totals with shipping are our arithmetic for the 40,00 € fee the pages showed. The four diode machines share one review pool (3.8 out of 5 from 50 reviews), the three SH-series CO2 machines another (2.9 out of 5 from 17 reviews, 35% of them 1-star) and the two portables a third (3.5 out of 5 from 6 reviews). The KH5030’s 4.3 out of 5 from 91 reviews is shared with its 60–130 W versions. In each case a review may be about a different model.

Diode, CO2 or galvo: what you are really choosing

  • Diode (JL3PRO, L8, P3 Pro): a 455 nm blue laser module moved over the bed on rails, inside an orange or green enclosure that VEVOR rates Class 1, with emergency stop, tilt stop and a lock. Good for wood, leather, paper and dark acrylic. VEVOR’s own pages say they cannot cut metals or transparent acrylic, and glass, white plastic and shiny surfaces need a black coating first. The cheapest way in, and the quietest setup: no water, no tube.
  • CO2 (SH-3020, KH5030, SH-350, SH-530): a gas tube with water cooling and mirrors, built for cutting: VEVOR lists up to 5–7 mm acrylic (including clear acrylic, which diodes cannot cut) and 3–5 mm wood. They are big and heavy (hence the shipping fee), the tube is a wear part, and VEVOR says they are not for metal, only coated metals. VEVOR’s Hungarian answer on the SH-530 page: metals need a fibre laser, glass a UV laser (our translation).
  • Galvo portables (Nano Pro, Nano Duo): mirrors swing the beam over a small field (100 × 100 or 160 × 140 mm), so they mark very fast and suit small items, tags and logos. They are Class 4 devices, the highest laser class, so eye protection and a controlled workspace are required. Only the Nano Duo’s 2 W 1064 nm infrared laser is sold for bare metals (gold, silver, copper, stainless steel, brass, titanium).

mm/min vs mm/s: the speed trap

The diode machines list speed per minute, the CO2 and galvo machines per second. The JL3PRO’s 7000 mm/min is about 116.7 mm/s; the L8’s 30,000 mm/min is 500 mm/s and the P3 Pro’s 36,000 mm/min is 600 mm/s; the Nano Pro’s 5000 mm/s would be 300,000 mm/min (all our arithmetic). These are maximum travel or marking speeds, not cutting speeds: galvo mirrors move far faster than a gantry, and real cutting runs much slower on every machine. Compare speeds only within the same type.

Bed size matters more than it looks: 300 × 300 mm is 900 cm², the L8 and the P3 Pro both give 1600 cm² (square vs wide), the KH5030 and both SH 500 × 300 machines 1500 cm², the 45 W desktop CO2 only 600 cm², and the portables 100 and 224 cm² (our arithmetic).

The ten models

  • JL3PRO 10W, 247,90 € (was 322,90 €, deal ends Oct 31): enclosed diode, 300 × 300 mm, 0.10 × 0.12 mm spot, cuts 0.2 in basswood in one pass, VEVOR says. VEVOR answers that it cannot engrave glass directly (blacken it with a marker or a thin black sticker first) and that white plastic must be coated black.
  • JL3PRO 20W, 464,90 € (was 488,90 €, deal ends Nov 1; 217,00 € more than the 10W): same frame and bed with double the listed power (“20000mW”), 0.3 in basswood in one pass, a slightly larger 0.12 × 0.15 mm spot. VEVOR confirms it has no camera, and that CutLabX and LaserGRBL are free while LightBurn needs a licence (answer in Norwegian). An extractor is an optional accessory not included in the box.
  • L8 20W, 629,90 € (was 874,90 €, deal ends Oct 31; 165,00 € more than the JL3PRO 20W): the same 20 W module and spot on a 400 × 400 mm bed, 30,000 mm/min, “Enclosure Camera” in the title and auto positioning in the features. Free shipping.
  • P3 Pro 20W, 812,90 € (was 1.275,90 €, deal ends Oct 31): 500 × 320 mm, 36,000 mm/min, the finest diode spot here (0.08 × 0.08 mm), auto positioning, Burnlab software. With the 40,00 € shipping fee it costs 852,90 €, 223,00 € more than the L8 for the same bed area in a wider shape (our arithmetic).
  • Nano Pro 12W portable, 505,90 € (was 691,90 €, deal ends Oct 31): galvo blue laser, 100 × 100 mm, 5000 mm/s, handheld or desktop, Android app over Wi-Fi, Class 4. Cuts 8 mm paulownia in one pass, VEVOR says. No questions answered yet on the page.
  • Nano Duo 20W + 2W IR portable, 1.351,90 € (was 1.422,90 €, deal ends Nov 1; 846,00 € more than the Nano Pro): adds a 1064 nm infrared laser for metals, 160 × 140 mm, 10000 mm/s, auto and manual focus. VEVOR lists the box as the engraver, an orange protective enclosure, laser safety glasses, power adapter, cables and positioning tools; an air purifier is not included. For colour marking on stainless steel VEVOR says the steel should be at least 3 mm thick.
  • VEVOR Nano Duo portable 20W blue plus 2W infrared galvo laser engraver with orange shield, official product image
    Nano Duo: 20 W blue + 2 W infrared galvo, Class 4, 1.351,90 € until Nov 1 (official VEVOR image).
  • SH-3020 45W desktop CO2, 950,90 € (no deal; 990,90 € with the 40,00 € shipping): 300 × 200 mm with a rotary axis for cylinders, up to 300 mm/s, ≤ 5 mm acrylic and ≤ 3 mm wood, water pump cooling, tube life 3,500+ hours. It costs 321,00 € more than the L8 for a smaller bed, so buy it for clear acrylic cutting, not for size.
  • KH5030 50W CO2, 1.546,90 € (was 1.858,90 €, deal ends Oct 31; 1.586,90 € with shipping): 300 × 500 mm with front and back pass-through doors, 0–500 mm/s, ≤ 6 mm acrylic, Ruida controller, LightBurn, CorelDRAW and AutoCAD, on wheels. VEVOR answers that the bed height adjusts by 22 cm, that water cooling is built in and that no assembly is needed (the last two in Hungarian). Lenses: 25 mm reflective, 20 mm focusing, per VEVOR.
  • SH-350 50W floor-standing CO2, 1.752,90 € (was 2.079,90 €, deal ends Oct 31; 1.792,90 € with shipping, 206,00 € more than the KH5030): 500 × 300 mm with 4-way pass-through, honeycomb and aluminium blade beds, up to 600 mm/s, ≤ 7 mm acrylic and ≤ 5 mm wood, tube life 3,500+ hours.
  • SH-530 55W desktop CO2, 2.044,90 € (was 2.395,90 €, deal ends Oct 31; 2.084,90 € with shipping): 500 × 300 mm, camera, autofocus, rotary axis, USB and Wi-Fi, up to 500 mm/s. VEVOR says it has no separate control panel or display (the page lists USB and Wi-Fi control from Windows, macOS or Linux), and recommends automotive antifreeze for the coolant (answers in Czech, our translation).
VEVOR KH5030 50W CO2 laser engraver and cutter on wheels, black and orange, official product image
KH5030: CO2 on wheels, 300 × 500 mm, 1.546,90 € until Oct 31, plus shipping (official VEVOR image).

Read the listing twice

  • “50W” with a 40W tube. The KH5030 is sold as a 50 W CO2 machine, but its own description says “Our 40W CO₂ laser tube delivers consistent power output”. Its spec list also gives the tube life as ≥2000 H, while the three SH-series pages say 3,500+ hours. Ask VEVOR which tube ships before you order.
  • 16MP or 5MP? The SH-530 title says “16MP Camera”; its features and description say “5MP camera”. And a Czech buyer reports that the manual describes a display the machine does not have; VEVOR apologised and confirmed there is no display.
  • Spot sizes that swap places. The Nano Pro’s title and spec list give a 0.01 × 0.01 mm spot, its features 0.08 × 0.06 mm. On the Nano Duo it is the other way round: the features give the blue laser 0.01 × 0.01 mm, the spec list 0.08 × 0.06 mm. The larger figure is the safer one to plan with. The first photo on the 12 W Nano Pro page also carries a “10W” badge.
  • Watts are not cutting power across types. A 20 W diode (“Power Output: 20000mW”) cuts 0.3 in basswood in one pass, VEVOR says; the CO2 machines list several millimetres of acrylic and wood. Clear acrylic and metals are out for every diode here.
  • Shared review scores. The 3.8 stars on the 247,90 € JL3PRO also cover the L8 and P3 Pro; the SH pool includes a 60 W machine (a US buyer had to re-aim the mirrors on arrival; another had a cracked tube that VEVOR replaced); some Nano Duo reviews are marked “Review From Other Platforms”.
  • LightBurn is not free. Every diode page marks LightBurn as paid; the free options are LaserGRBL (Windows, “for low-speed devices only”) and CutLabX, or Burnlab on the P3 Pro.
  • Bigger versions shown but out of stock. The KH5030 page lists 60, 80, 100 and 130 W versions at higher prices; only the 50 W was in stock when we checked.
  • The deal clock. Eight deals end Oct 31 and two Nov 1; the biggest cut is the P3 Pro’s 463,00 € (36%). The 45 W SH-3020 had no deal at all.

FAQ

Which VEVOR laser engraver is cheapest?
The JL3PRO 10W enclosed diode at 247,90 € (deal price until Oct 31, was 322,90 €), with free shipping. Prices as shown on the EU store on October 30, 2026, VAT included.

Can a diode laser engraver cut acrylic or metal?
VEVOR’s diode pages say they cannot cut metals or transparent acrylic. For clear acrylic look at the CO2 machines; for marking bare metal, only the Nano Duo’s infrared laser is sold for it.

Is the KH5030 really 50 W?
It is sold as 50 W, but its description mentions a 40W CO₂ tube, and its spec list gives a tube life of ≥2000 H. Ask VEVOR before ordering if power matters to you.

Why do some engravers cost 40 euros more?
The P3 Pro and the four CO2 machines showed a 40,00 € shipping fee with delivery to Romania; VEVOR’s policy charges for items of 30 kg and above in some countries (10 € Ireland and Portugal, 30 € Finland and Croatia). Most other countries ship free.

Do I need LightBurn?
No. VEVOR lists free LaserGRBL and CutLabX for the JL3PRO and L8 and Burnlab for the P3 Pro; LightBurn is optional and paid.

Are these safe at home?
The enclosed diode machines are rated Class 1. The portable Nano Pro and Nano Duo are Class 4 and need laser glasses (the Nano Duo box includes a pair, VEVOR says). All of them need ventilation for smoke.
