Short answer: ElevenLabs Productions is the done-for-you service inside ElevenLabs: you upload a file and a team of human linguists, “vetted and trained by ElevenLabs”, delivers an edited transcript, captions, translated subtitles, a dub or an audiobook. It is not paid with your plan credits (self-serve orders go through a separate checkout) and it is priced per minute of source audio: from US$2 a minute for transcripts, US$2.2 for captions, US$7 for subtitles, US$22 for dubs and US$200 an hour for audiobooks. Enterprise customers get “up to 25% off”. That is far more than doing it yourself with AI: a self-serve Dubbing Studio minute without watermark costs US$1.65 to US$1.82 on the plan tables, and Scribe v2 transcription is US$0.22 an hour on the API. You pay the difference for native-speaker review. The exact price is quoted before checkout.

Who can order? The Free plan card on the pricing page lists “Productions” among its features, so you do not need a paid subscription to place an order; you pay for each order at checkout. Note, though, that ElevenLabs’ Terms say Free Users “may only use the Services for non-commercial purposes”, and we found no Productions-specific exception on its pages. For a business video, plan on a paid account. ElevenLabs also invites enterprises to buy volume: its “Other Enterprise Benefits” card lists faster turnaround times, studio-grade mixing, custom style guides and glossaries, post-processing, custom delivery formats, a dedicated project manager and a direct Slack channel with your Productions team. Enterprise orders “are deducted from workspace credits instead of going through our payment processor.”

Productions vs doing it yourself with credits
Every Productions service has a self-serve AI twin that runs on plan credits. ElevenLabs’ pricing FAQ gives the credit costs: “Speech to Text 330 credits per minute”, and Dubbing “2,000 credits per minute (automatic with watermark), 3,000 (automatic without watermark), 5,000 (Dubbing Studio with watermark) or 10,000 (Dubbing Studio without watermark).” Here is how the per-minute prices compare (ElevenLabs’ numbers, multiples are our arithmetic):
Job: Transcript
- Productions (human-edited): from US$2 / minute (US$120 an hour)
- Self-serve AI (from the plan tables): Scribe v2: US$0.22 per extra hour on the API; Creator includes 6 h 7 min a month
- Difference (our math): about 545× per hour
Job: Dub, no watermark
- Productions (human-edited): from US$22 / minute
- Self-serve AI (from the plan tables): Dubbing Studio: US$1.82 per extra minute on Creator (12 min included), US$1.65 on Pro (60 min included)
- Difference (our math): about 12× to 13×
Job: Dub, automatic
- Productions (human-edited): from US$22 / minute
- Self-serve AI (from the plan tables): Automatic Dubbing v2: US$2.23 to US$4.91 per extra minute depending on plan; US$2.20 a minute on the API
- Difference (our math): about 10× vs the API rate

Those monthly minutes line up with the credit costs (our arithmetic): Creator’s 121,000 credits ÷ 10,000 = 12 watermark-free Dubbing Studio minutes, and ÷ 330 ≈ 367 minutes, the “6 hours 7 minutes” of transcription in the Speech to Text tab. So the honest comparison is: the AI does a first pass for cents or a couple of dollars a minute; Productions adds a native speaker who checks the translation, picks voices, fixes pacing and runs a QC checklist, and that is what the US$22 a minute buys. ElevenLabs itself pitches Productions as “5-10x cheaper than traditional LSP services” (language service providers), which is its claim, not something we tested.
Examples (our arithmetic at the “from” prices, before tax; your quote may be higher):
- A 10-minute YouTube video dubbed into one language: from US$220 with Productions. Self-serve in Dubbing Studio without watermark it fits in Creator’s 12 included minutes (US$22 a month), or about US$16.50 of extra minutes on Pro.
- A 60-minute podcast transcript: from US$120 human-edited, versus about US$0.22 for an hour of Scribe v2 on the API.
- A 30-minute webinar: captions from US$66; translated subtitles into one language from US$210.
- An 8-hour audiobook: from US$1,600; from US$1,200 if you qualify for the full 25% enterprise discount.
What each service includes
- Transcripts are “reviewed and corrected by native speakers”. Two styles: non-verbatim (“clean”, the default; removes filler words, stutters and audio event tags) and verbatim (for legal and research work, everything that can be heard). Target delivery: “within 48 hours.”
- Captions vs subtitles. Captions “transcribe spoken dialogue and include SDH by default. They are not translated.” Subtitles “translate spoken dialogue for viewers who do not understand the source language”; SDH is optional. That explains the price gap (US$2.2 vs US$7 a minute). Delivery: “within 48-72 hours”, exported as SRT.
- Dubs: you upload the video (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV), pick source and target language; the team transcribes, translates with a “thorough review of translation accuracy by a native speaker”, picks or uses your voices, fixes pacing and runs a quality checklist. Delivery: “within 7 business days.” Exports: MP4 (default), AAC, MP3, WAV, stems as a ZIP, AAF timeline, SRT captions and a TXT transcript. Lip sync: “perfect lip sync is not guaranteed”.
- Audiobooks: the Productions page offers “single and multicast audiobooks” with pronunciation, prosody, pauses and post-processing handled by the team, in EN, FR, DE and ES, with sound design as an add-on.
- Languages: 11 for Productions jobs: Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian. The docs warn you may see “no capacity available” for a language and should check back later.
- Changes after delivery: dubs can be opened in Dubbing Studio and edited. For other Productions, “No. You can export a completed Production and make changes off platform.” You can leave feedback on a finished order.

Where ElevenLabs’ own pages disagree (as of October 23, 2026):
- “Talk to sales” vs public prices. The Pricing sections of the transcripts, subtitles and dubbing docs say prices depend on several factors and tell you to “Talk to sales” for a custom quote. The pricing page, the in-app order dialog (“From $2.00 per minute”) and the docs overview show self-serve prices and an up-front quote. In practice you get a self-serve quote; sales is for volume.
- Audiobooks: “coming soon” or on sale? The docs overview still lists “Audiobooks (coming soon)”, while the Productions page sells single and multicast audiobooks and the pricing table lists them from US$200 an hour.
- Turnaround times. The Productions page says localization starts “from 24 hours” and captions and transcripts “from same day”; the docs aim for transcripts within 48 hours, subtitles within 48-72 hours and dubs within 7 business days. The page adds that turnaround times “are always shown to you before checkout”, so trust the order dialog.
- The quote screenshot. In the docs example below, a 0:54 file is quoted as 5 billable minutes at US$2.00 (US$10.00, shown struck through to US$5.00). ElevenLabs does not explain billable minutes or the discount in text; check the “Billable minutes” line in your own quote, especially for short clips.
- Subtitle formats. The subtitles FAQ says “We support SRT format for subtitle exports”; the app screenshot shows “.SRT and .VTT exports” on the captions cards.
