Filmora is Wondershare’s video editor for Windows and macOS, popular with YouTubers, small businesses and anyone who wants a simpler alternative to pro editors. Its pricing page has three paid plans for individuals plus a free version, and the differences between them (AI credits, cloud storage, updates and which computers you can use) are easy to miss. Here is what each one gets you.

Filmora plans at a glance (individuals)
| Plan | Price listed Oct 16, 2026 | AI credits | Cloud storage | Updates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | None (AI Mate 15 free uses/day) | None | Exports carry a Filmora watermark |
| Basic | US$49.99/year | None included | 1 GB | All updates and upgrades while subscribed |
| Advanced (most popular) | US$59.99/year (regular US$69.99) | 1,000 per month | 10 GB | All updates and upgrades while subscribed |
| Perpetual | US$79.99 one-time | 1,000 one-time | 1 GB | Updates within Filmora 16 only |
All three paid plans export without a watermark, export in 4K, and include the store’s “100+ advanced video editing features” and 500 free AI Mate conversations per month.
What each plan is for
Free: try before you pay
According to Filmora’s FAQ, the free edition gives you the basic editing features and lets you export, but a watermark is added to exported files. Cloud storage and the full Creative Assets library are reserved for paid plans. It is a sensible way to check that Filmora runs well on your computer before buying. Download Filmora from the official site.
Basic: US$49.99/year
Best for: editing without AI extras. Basic removes the watermark, includes continuous version upgrades while you are subscribed, 4K export and 1 GB of cloud storage. It does not include monthly AI credits, so Filmora’s credit-based AI tools (text-to-video, AI music, AI voice cloning, speech-to-text and others listed on the pricing page as “paid by AI credits”) are not covered. Choose it if you mainly cut, trim, add titles and transitions.
Advanced: US$59.99/year
Best for: creators who will use the AI tools. Advanced includes everything in Basic plus 1,000 Filmora AI credits per month, which the store says are used across 20+ AI features, and 10 GB of cloud storage. On October 16 the store listed it at US$59.99 per year against a regular US$69.99, only US$10 more than Basic. If you expect to use any AI features at all, this is the better value of the two subscriptions.

Perpetual: US$79.99 one-time
Best for: people who dislike subscriptions. You pay once and keep using the current major version. Filmora’s FAQ is clear about the limits: the perpetual plan includes updates to the current major version (Filmora 16) but not upgrades to future major versions, and you may need to pay again for those. It comes with 1,000 AI credits once, not monthly, and 1 GB of cloud storage. The license is also tied to one platform: a Windows license works only on Windows, a Mac license only on Mac.

Things to check before you buy
- Windows and Mac. Basic and Advanced work on both Windows and Mac with one license. Perpetual licenses are platform-specific.
- One user per license. Basic and Advanced are single-user licenses. Teams should look at the separate Team & Business plans on the pricing page.
- Creative Assets are a separate subscription. The checkout offers Filmora Creative Assets (stock media, effects, music and templates) as an add-on with a 7-day free trial that then renews monthly. Untick it if you don’t want it.
- Automatic renewal. Basic and Advanced renew automatically; the store says you can cancel the renewal at any time.
- Refunds. Wondershare states its products come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, subject to its refund policy.
Which Filmora plan should you choose?
- Just testing, or editing a one-off video where a watermark is acceptable: Free.
- Regular editing without AI features, on Windows and Mac: Basic.
- YouTube, social clips, captions, AI voice or music: Advanced, since the monthly AI credits cost only a little more.
- You want to pay once and are happy to stay on Filmora 16 on one platform: Perpetual.
